2004இல் வெளியான இந்நாவல், அடுத்த இரண்டாண்டுகளுக்குள் நாற்பது லட்சம் பிரதிகள் சீனாவில் விற்பனையானது. ‘மேன் ஆசியன் விருது’ தொடங்கப்பட்ட முதல் ஆண்டான, 2007இல் இந்நாவல் அவ்விருதைப் பெற்றது. நாவல் வெளியாகி சில ஆண்டுகள் வரை தன்னை வெளிக்காட்டிக் கொள்ளாதிருந்த ஜியாங், இப்புத்தகத்தின் எந்தவொரு நிகழ்விலும் விருது வழங்கும் விழாக்களிலும் கலந்துகொண்டதில்லை. ‘மேன் ஆசியன் விருது’வின் தேர்வுக் குழுவுக்கு இவர் அனுப்பிய புகைப்படம் மற்றும் வாழ்க்கைக் குறிப்பு மூலமே இவர் வெளி உலகுக்கு அறியப்பட்டார். எனினும், அந்த விருதையும் அவர் நேரில் சென்று பெறவில்லை. ஜியாங்கின் இயற்பெயர்: லூ ஜியாமின்.

Chinese novel translated by Mohan due to earnest effort of Director Vetrimaran...
940 பக்க வலி, விநோதம், காவியம்...

Chinese government has made a decision for revolution in the name of Modernization (Eliminating traditional things) during 1960s. Few students has given the task to go to Mangolian Grassland to change the mind set of tribal people. Mangolian tribals are believing Wolf as their guardian, higher most creature... But for these chinese students, they found it weird and spent few years to know why???

When we are getting to know about the characteristics of wolf, I felt bad about our previous pity stories, said about Wolf, most are defaming about them. But I'm damn sure that after reading this Novel - previous bad thoughts of WOLF will change and we will develop a great respect for them...

Why Mongolians worshipping WOLF as like GOD? Because they are the major factor for maintaining the food ecosystem. They used military standard techniques (which is even followed by Genghis Khan) for hunting deer which come in thousands and eat the whole grassland of Mangolia, leaving nothing for their domestic cattles.

A senior most leader in grassland took the students and made them watch the hunting technique of Wolf.
The Scene described by the author is one of the most appreciable one... The scene will freeze us inside and make us enjoy the scene directly from our eyes...

But, Chinese people has not believed the reasons behind the significance of WOLF. Hence they sent an army to kill them...

Many things happen in between...
1. How students loved the traditions of Mangolian People?
2. How they have started to love WOLF's characters?
3. When humans try to destroy their ecosystem, What they had done?
4. How an independent wild animal die when it adopted domestically?
5. How Wolves got irritated and started to fight back?
6. How Dominant class destroys everything for their own benefit, ego etc?
7. How the total ecosystem got collapsed and the Total Grassland (Which was once look like a heaven) turned into a desert?

At last, the author went with the first copy of this book and kept it in the cave of Wolf (where he taken Wolf Cub) and apologized for everything they have done!

Moral is simple and clear, if we try to destroy the natural ecosystem - definitely we will get the consequences in the future...

Even we can relate this story with Hydrocarbon, Methane, Nutrino etc.,

This novel will take take atleast a week time, but definitely make us sleepless for days...

Amazing read. Possible to relate our lands and ecosystem destruction. I can relate wolf with tiger in India. Wonder how I missed it to read this long time. Every people have own identity in their land, we should respect and protect them irrespective of their race and tribes.
