5.0 out of 5 stars Indeed A girl to remember!!
By Tejal dave on 2 October 2018
A Girl To Remember by Ajay K Pandey is a story of Pihu an innocent, emotional and mysterious girl who is waiting for an angel to come to her life and make her life beautiful. She is obsessed with her maths class teacher Neel who is the most selfish person. He is obsessed with his own body desires and doesn't care about anyone else's feelings. For him only two things are important in life - Money and his fantasies about women. And that's why he got attracted to Annu, pihu's mother. She is beautiful, charming, confident and caring widow. For her her daughter's smile is the key of her happiness.

This one is the story with lots of shades and emotions. Dark shades of Neel makes you feel that he is that devil of the society who can be dangerous to people around but still you can't hate him. All the characters have got their own importance and potrayed very well. Neel's mother - one of the balanced character who knows the evil side of his son still selflessly she supports him in all aspects of his life ( but that is how all mothers are). Neel's brother Nikhil - one large hearted loving character. Aarav - Neel's only good friend who is always there for him in all thick and thins. Few of the scenes described so well that a reader can actually feel the emotions of the characters. And the best part of the book is it's climax. Confession is the best punishment and that is the best messageed conveyed with such an ease.

Book cover is so beautiful and lively. Title of the book is apt for the plot and can't be better than this. Language is easy and narration is crisp that one can finish a book in go.

So is this a triangle love story? Why Pihu is so obsessed with Neel? Why Annu allowed Neel to stay at her place even though she knows about Neel's bad image? Did she also get attracted to Neel? Why Neel's brother broke all his relationship with him? What is that one incident happened that transformed the Neel from Demon to Angel? Why Neel who used to hate pihu for her immaturity started loving her unconditionally? what was that one confession that Neel made? and last but not the least what was that matured move of Pihu that made her " A girl to remember" ?

-- The title best suits the story. It signifies how the girl is someone that the protagonist will always remember. It is also attractive and compelling.
-- The cover shows a yellowish scene of sunflower field and a girl whose back can be seen. Overall, it looks bright and attractive. It makes the readers grab the book immediately and seek what’s between the covers.
-- The story starts with Neel narrating his story. We come to know that he’s a maths teacher in one of the most reputed schools of Pune but his job and shelter in the staff hostel is at stake because of certain reasons.
Neel narrates his desires for women and how he’s a demon.
He comes across Pihu, a young immature girl who offers him to be her tenant. Her extra affection irritates Neel, but his need of a place to reside makes him resist the urge to bash her off.
He meets Pihu’s mother Annu, who is a young, independent woman and a widow. Neel sees Annu as an opportunity.
In the course of his stay at their place, Neel finds out weird habits and facts about Pihu and Annu.
Amidst all this are mentioned a few flashbacks which portray Neel’s relationship with his family and what had gone wrong that led to his dismissal from the school premises.
The ends displays an immensely interesting twist which leaves us stunned and leaves us in tears.
-- The language is lucid and easy to understand. The entire storyline has been presented in a very interesting and intimidating way.
-- The twists and turns and the emotional turmoils in the situations have been narrated in a very appreciable way. The way the entire story has been narrated makes you flip pages with enthusiasm and interest.
-- Neel – A man of desires, who sees opportunities in people and considers people who believe in true love to be emotional fools. He can go to any extent to get what he wants.
-- Pihu – A young, immature 17 year old girl who has unexplained affection for Neel and considers him an angel, which he actually isn’t.
-- Annu – A widow, Pihu’s mother, she’s an independent woman with a charming personality and whose husband has left behind a heap of property for. All she wants in her life is true love and someone who can understand her problems.
