4.0 out of 5 stars Great algae fix medicine, works well...
    By Sriram S on 9 November 2018
This algae fix medicine which works so good. My tank was dumped with more algae, I had to trim 3/4 of the height of my plants and then I saw this in Amazon. Even when I used it first, there was many algae in my tank. According to the instructions given on the label I used it once in three days for 3 times. Until the third time I couldn't recognise difference in my tank. But on the next of the third dosage I was so surprised to see my tank with 99% of the algae gone all of a sudden. But unfortunately I haven't noticed on the label that it is ain't good for shrimps and other algae feeders. So I lost my 3 ghost shrimps but my golden algae eaters and placo survived the dosage. My tank looks really great now without algae and as the old days the plants start to grow really quick without algae...

I put 5ml of this product in my 100 gal tank and killed all my Oscars, and firemouths I've had for 2 years. It is not safe for freshwater fish like advertised! I am extremely mad and disappointed and my kids had to watch 7 fish we have had for 2 years die slowly it was a very horrible experience

My opinion is-if you love your goldfish (2000 gallon Pond) do NOT use this product.

I've used it successfully in the past so purchased again to deal with a new bloom. A week ago Tuesday. Three days later the bloom was not cleared so I used it again on Friday-as instructed. Then on Saturday, a day after the second treatment, I couldn't see a single fish (of 20) I looked in all their usual hiding places and nothing. Finally I could see about 5 of them hiding in a lilypad's roots. I was devastated. I thought I had lost 15 fish and because there were no floating fish I deducted they must have been taken by a heron or racoons. I figured those who were left were traumatized and that's why they wouldn't come come out. I did all the things you do when you have a heron in the neighborhood, up to and including a pond net (ugly). Then slowly but surely over a few days I saw more and more re-appeared til finally I realized that not one of them had been in hiding for so long if there wasn't a predator. So fast forward to yesterday where I noticed the green was back and used the algae fix again. Guess what? They are allhiding again. The net hasn't moved so no predator So what was the common denominator? Algae fix. I did some research and one of the things that makes fish hide is stress about the quality of the water.

So, I'm hoping they all make it through (lost one after they came out of hiding the first time around). (Had been trying to quarantine him in a fish "hospital" to keep him away from the others to avoid passing on whatever was wrong with him being passed onto the others. Weird part of that-I had been treating the water, doing 50% water changes, treating for bacterial infections, and yesterday added a very small amount of algaefix because it had turned green overnight and the fish was dead-even after a week of noted progress.

I know this long and complicated but, please read the 1 star comments and ask yourself if it's work the risk
