The lovely picture book After the Fall by Dan Santat. It is a treat for readers with fantastic illustrated and an ingenious tale of what happens to Humpty Dumpty when he decides to climb up the wall again after his infamous fall. In this sequel, we find a suited yet bandaged Humpty Dumpty as a passionate bird watcher. Young readers find out why and how Humpty Dumpty met with the accident, the great fall. He was merely sitting “high up on the wall” watching birds. Little readers would discover that Humpty simply could not be fixed with “bandages and glue”.
Post the fall, Humpty is afraid. His fear is taking over his life. Things that he used to love the most exceptionally being up high, and watching the birds close by. He couldn’t face it anymore. In a sublime, how beautifully he turns into paper planes that could never reach next to birds. Humpty faces his fears as he pushes himself to face the great wall again. This book is a wonderful reading delight to all children who feel anxious. The isle with the cereal boxes was astounding. So much put in the picture book.
We enjoy reading this one. In loop.

There's a bit of 'technical impossibility' in the big reveal at the end, but then again we're talking about an egg with feelings, so that's a bit moot.
