4.0 out of 5 starsHandy Teaching Tool
Reviewed in the United States on 28 October 2015
This is a fun little booklet for early readers to become accustomed to reading on their own. It is a cross between a graphic novel for kids and a comic book. It's a subtle teaching tool because it addresses some homonyms in a humorous way. Puns, too. And, yep! Some pirate lingo. I will use it to work with a second generation immigrant child who is an advanced English speaker for her age, but, like many second generation learners, lags in vocabulary, idioms and many of the idiosyncrasies of English used liberally in this little book about talking dogs.
