Playlists, podcasts, and compelling audio books help make any road trip more memorable. Listen to content from your portable device over your car's stereo system using the AmazonBasics 3.5mm stereo audio cable. The handy cable also makes dinner parties and backyard barbecues even better with music from your MP3 player or other portable device played over your home entertainment system or portable speakers. The cable transmits audio in stereo format for a sublime surround-sound experience.
The AmazonBasics stereo audio cable's beveled step-down design creates a secure connection, while its dual shielding, polished metal molding, and corrosion-resistant gold-plated plugs ensure reliable performance and minimal signal loss. Because the cable provides a wired connection, there's not the static or interference often associated with wireless transmitters or cassette adapters. Even more, the audio cable features a flexible jacket and a smooth un-coiled design, so there's no need to pull on it to expand the length like with coiled versions.
To use, simply plug each end of the cable into the respective port on a compatible device, and it's ready to go. The audio cable works with any device equipped with a standard 3.5mm audio jack or AUX-in port. Your portable device can even be charged while in use, though a separate cable would be required.
With the AmazonBasics 3.5mm male-to-male stereo audio cable, plug in, tune in, and let the world of sound surround you.

I bought this cable for some high end headphones. The old cable was just a tad too short. The audio has been fine as of a few days into writing, BUT the rest of the experience was painful to say the least.
The ends of the cord aren't properly shielded, and can carry an electrical charge. Anything in close proximity will be shocked. This includes nearby metal objects (obviously), as well as anything that can take an electrical charge. In my case, this meant if the end was anywhere close to my skin, I got a burning shock. This happened multiple times, both to my ear and neck areas. To be clear, the charge felt like a hair was being yanked out. Only after several minutes did I finally conclude that the cord was literally shocking me. I used some spare electrical tape to insulate the end, and that seemed to work, but I'm not taking any chances with this product. The moment I can get another cord, I'm purchasing it.
First time using amazon basics, and I literally got burned. Not a great way to start a relationship.
After initial, careful opening of the cardboard box, I found the the cable neatly coiled in a circle with two lightly wrapped twist ties inside an unsealed plastic bag. The cord itself seems fine enough, but I could immediately tell it is very inexpensive material, which is fine, remember this cable was $5.00. The connectors looked and felt very nice for what they were and should get the light-duty job done for me. The connectors fit appropriately well into my devices.
I think the sound quality is fine and I have not had to spin the connectors around while music is play. Granted, I am not a good sound quality tester as the speakers the music is playing through are 18 years old. Still kicking!
If you just need this cable for speakers, car radio, etc. 100% but it, if it's for anything that is more complicated than that, purchase a more expensive, high quality cable and save the trouble.
"The AmazonBasics cable is very sturdy, but I did manage to break the first one I bought because at 6 feet it was too short to lie on the floor, making it inevitable that I would eventually trip over it. Frankly I was happy that the displayport plug on the 6 foot cable broke off instead of knocking the computer to the floor. Fortunately the 10 foot cable lies on the floor, and now I'm a happy little camper. I have several other AmazonBasics cables which have never given me any trouble, so I'm confident that this is the last cable I'll need."
As you can see I consider it a feature, not a bug, that the mini displayport plug broke off instead of crashing my computer to the floor after I blundered heavily into it. You may prefer that your cables survive your equipment, but that's up to you...
