And metal elbow that holds the laptop at an angle is so big that it actually pricks your hand so much while typing, that you will eventually prefer not using it.
The design seems not be updated from 2000.
Which laptops are so thick these days.

I was tired of keeping a book below my laptop for proper heat ventilation so decided to buy a cooling pad or a laptop stand. On my way of searching for the right product i came across this.
-The build is very sturdy
-The design is awesome and has a premium feel to it
-Has mulitple inclines for different angles to keep the laptop
-You can also go for the no incline which gives the laptop a slightly elevated feel
-Helps ventilation because of its net like design

Pros : Well Build Quality, Looks nice. Metallic.
Cons : Very Heavy, Not at all portable, 2 clips to hold laptop not properly placed and hence makes it uncomfortable while typing.

Buy this only if portability and weight is not a priority. If kept at one place will work fantastically.
Since I had to carry the laptop stand wherever I go, I am returning it as I can't carry such a heavy object along with an already heavy laptop.

First, its quite an outdated design. A mesh like pad which feels very cheap. The upright hinges at the end that prevent the laptop from slipping down are huge and are more of a hassle. I don't know why they couldnt be of a smaller size. My palms usually rest on them while typing and leave a mark/ painful sensation after some use. A smaller low height ones would do the same purpose, wonder who thought it would be ideal to have such huge ones in the first place. First amazonbasics product ive been disappointed with honestly.
If you plan to type on your laptop while using this pad, don't buy it. Only if you are using an external keyboard.

I bought it for my Dad. Very simple to use. Unlike other reviewers, we did not have any problem in typing or using the touchpad. At full height, the laptop screen comes to eye level when seated erect in an executive chair which is how the ideal seating position and eye level should be. Only the slot handle to hold the wires is disappointing. It is not of the same quality as the rest of the stand.

So frankly speaking I ordered this for myself as i had prolong hours of typing and working on laptop. So indeed this is a saver for your spine. I feel it's slightly more elevated than you would want it to be but it does have a way to adjust the height.

A suggestion would be - If you want more relaxed experience then you should attach a keyboard that ways you will have a better typing experience (or if you are a gamer)

There is a dedicated surface to let the heat from the laptop vent out.

The con is that its heavy so its not very commute friendly. That ways that is the only downside I see to this product.

Nevertheless still a 4 star from my side

The problem with laptops is that they're designed with portability in mind rather than what's good for your back, neck, and wrists. Basically, if the screen is at the right height then the keyboard is too high, and if the keyboard is in the right position, then the screen is too close and too low.
Thus, This Product is very helpful.

Absolutely worth the money. Its far better than the other more fancy and expensive ones listed. It not only works as a stand, but also doubles up as a laptop cooler because of the metal mesh. Just one issue, pls check the stand thoroughly. I got one which was bent at the back, though the box was intact. Had to get it replaced. So I assume they are not doing a QA before sending it. Hence you check it all over.

J ai acheté ce support pour rehausser un peu mon ordinateur portable afin d adopter une position plus ergonomique pendant cette période de teletravail intensive. Le support est arrivé bien emballé... installation rapide . Simple et efficace. Je me sens beaucoup plus confortable depuis avoir installé mon ordi dessus. Je regrette néanmoins l absence d une notice(même si peu de chose a savoir mais présence d une pièce à placer à l arriere pour caler les câbles.... ). J ai du aller voir sur internet pour savoir où l installer et a quoi elle servait .... et je regrette aussi quvil n y ai pas une position intermédiaire entre la position la plus basse (c est à dire posé sur le socle) et le premier écran. L un un chouille trop bas et l autre trop haut .

Fantastic piece of kit

The name Amazon Basics gives the impression that this product is going to be exactly that.....BASIC. Thankfully I ignored the name and focused on the glowing reviews. I have definitely not been disappointed. It is a very sturdy piece of kit, especially for the price position, and does a superb job at supporting my laptop. Its a 15.6 inch screen and fits perfectly into the cradle, overhanging it by about 25mm on either side, which is perfect.. The height and angle can be adjusted into 9 different positions. There are actually 7 built in fixing positions but you gain a couple more positions by using it in the fully closed position, or by extending the support arm beyond the final built in fixing position. For my viewing & typing comfort I have found the fully closed position to work best. Its good to know though that I've got lots of flexibility to adjust should I have a need; or someone else uses the laptop.
The only gripe, and I'm repeating what a lot of other reviewers have said, is that the lugs at the base of the cradle to stop the laptop slipping out when it is angled, protrude above the position of the laptop (my laptop is approximately 20mm deep where it intercepts the lugs). This makes it uncomfortable when typing as they keep catching against my wrists. Well they did until I found a very simple and effective workaround. I inserted a couple of circular rubber sticky pads on each side of the base at the front of the cradle and my laptop now fits perfectly in line with the retaining lugs. If you are in doubt as to what sticky pads I am referring to, they are made in different thicknesses from felt or rubber, and are primarily used to stop furniture marking wooden floors. I bought mine from one of the pound shops!! Although the height of the lugs are a bit of a nuisance, don't let this stop you from buying the cradle as its a great piece of kit and there is a simple fix.

URGENT ALERT! This could chop fingers off...Edit as of Oct2020 SOLVED

Edit.....8th Oct 2020 this product became unavailable for a while but now has come back vastly improved. I think Amazon listened :-) my review is now 5 stars because now it's safer it's a very good product.

As a stationary laptop stand this is a 5 stars product. BUT if used on your lap it is DANGEROUS. The design is such that the edges act like scissors. It is all to easy to dislodge the riser bracket and have the unit (with heavier laptop) snap shut. This happened to me and luckily my hands were towards the rear of the unit where ther is a gap when closed. However it would be all to easy to have a finger or two at the hinge end and that would absolutely chop off a finger if a heavier loptop was attached.

I recommend amazon have this product redesigned with a locking catch on the riser bracket and instructions not to move it or use it on a lap or knee without locking.

For existing users I would recommend putting something inside the erect stand that would stop it from snapping shut if the riser bracket got dislodged. If you used it on your lap please be really really careful!

Mon papa me disait toujours étant plus jeune (dans le temps -il n’y a pas si longtemps- des gros pc portable): « ne pose pas ton ordi sur ton lit, tu bouche la ventilation ! Utilises plutôt un Atlas mondial. »

Après 10 ans « d’atlas-rehausseur », je me suis enfin lancé dans l’achat d’un véritable rehausseur-d’écran-qui-ne-bouche-pas-la-ventilation. Je ne vous cache pas que ce fut une épreuve émouvante puisque j’ai dû me séparer de mon Atlas (non pas que l’idée de me séparer du savoir géographique m'émeut -je suis nulle en géo-). Il en a vu des pc me lâcher, mais lui était toujours là pour me soutenir.

Grâce à cet objet, mon ordinateur n’a plus tendance à chauffer. De plus, avec ses crans rehausseurs, la frappe au clavier est plus agréable (ce sont les poignets qui disent merci).

Ho acquistato questo prodotto perché ero stufo di tenere la mia schiena e il mio collo in posizioni innaturali e alla lunga dannose per la salute, e mi pareva che questa potesse essere una soluzione: effettivamente lo è! Il prodotto della linea "Amazon basics" è ottimo per i seguenti aspetti:

- struttura: il pannello in rete che permette di non far surriscaldare il pc è ottimo e funzionale, soprattutto per il materiale di cui è fatto (metallo): assorbe e allontana effettivamente il calore generato dalla ventola (se il computer ha la ventola nella parte inferiore). In generale poi la struttura si è rivelata ben solida, adattandosi a vari modelli di computer (Mac OS air, Pro, Asus, Acer, ecc). Non ho provato direttamente ma, a giudicare dalle dimensioni, il supporto dovrebbe essere funzionale anche per tablet di vari modelli;

- i livelli di pendenza: si può scegliere tra varie angolazioni (bassa, media e alta) per soddisfare le diverse esigenze di angolazione, perciò il livello di comfort ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative;
- gli spazi sul retro "raccogli/ordina-fili": questo è un elemento di pregio e non affatto scontato (è l'unico ad avercelo, tra tutti i supporti che ho visto), poiché tiene in ordine il piano di lavoro o scrivania evitando inutili e fastidiosi aggrovigliamenti di fili.

Una pecca di poco conto è il fatto che, rispetto ad altri supporti presenti sul mercato, non è l'oggetto più comodo da mettere in borsa, in quanto, se ripiegato, rimane comunque all'altezza minima, con un certo grado di pendenza.

Una pecca invece molto più influente e che, dal punto di vista della User experience, ritengo sia stata una svista abbastanza clamorosa, sono i fermi (non saprei qual'è il termine corretto) che evitano al computer di scivolare lungo la pedana. Ecco, avendo provato il supporto sia con un vecchio modello di Asus (circa 17 pollici e abbastanza spesso, 4 cm c.a) che con un MacBook Air, in entrambi i casi ho avuto problemi. Nel caso dell'Asus i "fermi" di metallo si sono rivelati troppo alti e fastidiosi per i polsi (ancor di più se essi sono nudi), ancor di più nel caso del MacBook Air, il quale, essendo molto più fino, soffre maggiormente del problema.
Per tale motivo ho dovuto sostituirlo con un supporto differente che non presentasse questo problema.
Quanto ho detto vale ovviamente se NON si è dotati di una tastiera a parte: se infatti si utilizza il supporto per mantenere alto il pc facendolo fungere solamente da schermo, allora il problema non sussiste minimamente.

A parte dunque questa pecca a mio parere grossa nella UX, in generale è un acquisto valido per il suo prezzo, nella maniera più assoluta se lo si usa per sostenere il computer utilizzandolo solamente come schermo.
