About the Author

When she's not trying to take over the world or fighting sock-stealing monsters, Laura Ellen Anderson is a professional children's book author and illustrator, with an increasing addiction to coffee. She spends every waking hour creating and drawing, and would quite like to live on the moon when humans finally make it possible. Laura is the illustrator of Witch Wars, My Brother Is A Superhero, new editions of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books, new editions of Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching series, as well as many other children’s books. Amelia Fang is her first series as author–illustrator.

Zoe Thorne is an English actress who played Emilie in Warhorse at the New London Theatre. She is also best known for the movies New Year's Day, An American Haunting and Hamlet. 5.0 out of 5 stars Another FANG-TASTIC installment!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 March 2021
I bought this book for my little girl to add to her growing collection of bedtime stories.

This is the second in the Amelia Fang series and my little girl was so excited to be transported back to the world of Nocturnia, she was captivated from the very first page.

She could remember all of the characters from the first book and she could even remember what had happened so I didn't have to do a little recap to make her understand anything. Which, I think shows just how entertaining and engaging Laura's books actually are!

This books carries a very powerful message that you shouldn't be afraid of something/someone that you don't know/understand just because you're told they're scary. You should always take the time to get to know them first and not judge them based on other people's opinions (apart from when it comes to children talking to strangers, obviously!).

The illustrations in this book are beautiful and my little girl still wants her very own pet Squashy, especially since Tangine now has one for himself too!

I know my little girl will enjoy reading this story when she's older and if she had her own way she would make me read her these books repeatedly everynight!

My daughter and I can't wait to start reading the next book in this FANG-TASTIC series, Amelia Fang and the Memory Thief and I will be buying the rest of the books in the series very soon!

I would recommend this book to everyone aged 7+.
Although, younger children would also enjoy having this story read to them!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic addition to the Amelia Fang series.

Amelia Fang and The Unicorn Lords is the second book in the Amelia Fang series. It is as or even more brilliant than the first one.
Now that Tangine, Florence,Grimaldi and Amelia are friends and Tangine is now behaving less of a spoilt sprout, Amelia has promised to find Fairyweather, the mother and wife of Tangine and King Vladimir.
The friends set off on an adventure that leads them beyond the borders of The Kingdom of Dark to find a place called Glitteropolis. On their journey to find Tangine’s mum the friends meet many new characters from The Kingdom of Light. There is a talking wishing well, leprechauns and many unicorns. Their quest to find Fairyweather is ladled with disguises, disasters, deceit and a mystery that needs solving.
Amelia Fang and The Unicorn Lords is an extremely fun read with all the disgusting charm of the first book plus lashings of unicorn sprinkles, fizzling flower fruit pops and cuddling custard pies. The artwork and cover art of this series is absolutely scrumptious, this time the illustrator has used purple foil inserts to enhance the charming cover. I thoroughly enjoyed reading book 2 as much as I enjoyed the first, I just could not put it down till I finished the whole book. I am now eagerly awaiting to read the third book in this bloodcurdling series, Amelia Fang and The Memory Thief.
Highly recommended. A 5⭐️ read and a 5⭐️ book series so far
