Born and brought up in Patna amidst a joint family, I finished my schooling from St Michael’s and went on to complete my engineering from ITER, Bhubaneswar. Post working in Tata Consultancy, Delhi for 3 years, I pursued my MBA from XIMB and joined HSBC Analytics thereafter. My work here mainly deals with data and decisions.

I come from a family full of doctors, though my mother is a teacher. My parents have been a pillar of everything I am today. Me and my wife, Oindrilla, met during college and we clicked instantly. After a courtship of 7 long years, we got married in 2016. I feel very lucky to have her around me, loving and supporting in every endeavour of mine.

I have been drawn to artistic pursuits since early school days, although having no such background in the family. I started writing poetry and stories since childhood, sitting on my terrace, till the sun came scorching. At the same time, music elated me.

I went on to participate in multiple musical events, somewhere solo and somewhere with a band, and received many accolades and recognitions, which includes Got Talent competitions in college and even at my current workplace. I went ahead with sending my literary work here and there and regularly received commendable mentions from Delhi Poetry Slam. Later on, I won a creative writing competition in my previous workplace as well as in the current one.

The Artists is a book which was on my mind since a very long time. Being around so many creative people in life and seeing what they go through, I decided to pen down stories around how individuals can break free through their art. The book introduces ballet to the Indian landscape in a very vivid form. It ventures into the story of a typical band, what they encounter and then into the world of street theatre, popularly known as nukkad in India. For me, the book is an amalgamation of many elements, passion remaining the central theme.

Sahana, Aarav and Manvita are characters very close to my heart now, as if living and breathing. They are a manifestation of what relentlessness can get you in life.
