Kartikeya was born from the flames of a desperate need, an ardent desire, and an utmost devastation. In him was distilled the terrible powers of Mahadev, at its fiercest and most deadly. Although he fought many wars and slew many tyrants, yet his gifts to humanity have always been those of mercy, compassion and love. What makes this possible?
For Kartikeya, there have always been more questions than answers. Did he really walk away from his family over a piece of fruit? What about the women in his life—was he the ravisher he is at times accused of being, or the protector of women? Was he the violent warrior who revelled in bloodlust, or a gentle family man? What was his relationship with his more popular sibling, Ganesha?
Anuja Chandramouli weaves together myth, imagination and folklore while looking to answer these questions, and recreates for modern readers the story of one of the most enigmatic gods—Kartikeya.

A formidable strategist and remarkable scholar, the Sultan will go down in history for his brutality as well as his brilliance, unfairly remembered only as a cruel tyrant who might have been raving mad. His high-flown aspirations and grandiose ambitions may have met with crushing failure, but even so, Tughlaq was a great hero of the fourteenth century, albeit a tragic and fatally flawed one.
In this fictional retelling, Anuja Chandramouli, one of India's best mythology writers, reimagines Muhammad bin Tughlaq's life and times in incredible detail to bring to life the man behind the monarch.

Distilled from the essence of Vishnu, Mohini the Enchantress is a part of him and yet she revels
in the autonomy and extraordinary powers of beauty, magic and enchantment that are hers to
wield. She is loved and desired by all in existence and yet, she is elusive—a tantalizing temptress,
traipsing her way across the topsy-turvy terrain of fable and myth.
Mohini’s meandering path will see her in the thick of things as the Devas and Asuras try to get
their hands on Amrita—the nectar of immortality, blunder into a love triangle that will spark a
bloody war, fulfil the last wish of a dead hero, and traipse into a romantic tryst with Mahadeva.
She also becomes the mother of Shastha, a beacon of hope for all who are considered oddities by
a spiteful society that recognizes only two genders.
Set against the tumult and intrigue of a celestial quest for immortality, Anuja Chandramouli brings
the extraordinary saga of Mohini to vivid life. She takes the reader on a dizzying ride through
the shifting sands of time, expertly navigating the quagmire of gender, love, lust and desire, deftly
untangling the threads of tall tales and terrible truths, while spinning a deliciously entertaining
yarn for the ages.
