Product description

Review

Neil Gaiman is best known for his fictional creations, but he's no slouch in the nonfiction department...Not only invaluable, but engrossing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A book no reader must miss.
By Asha Seth on 1 November 2018
This is a cute little book with Neil Gaiman's advice on reading, writing, following your dreams, importance of libraries and librarians, why kids should read, and respecting art, and the illustrator's endeavor into transforming those pieces into sketches.
I thought of doing a picture review so readers get a hint of what to expect from this tiny little enchanter of a book. Obviously, these are pieces that stuck with me. The book's got a lot more things to learn and imbibe.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for the creatives
By Bliss Ningnem Langel on 14 June 2019
Neil Gaiman has and will always be my favourite writer. Who has inspired me not only creatively but also on a humanist term. I've learned to appreciate more about this complex world because of his delicate writings about fantastical things. And this book even contained my favourite commencement speech of all speeches. His "Make Good Art" speech at University of Arts, Philadelphia in 2012. It was both heart rendering and inspiring. If you love being creative and want inspiration. This book is a must buy!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book
By anusree das on 8 August 2020
The very first of Neil Gaiman book that I tried after a friend recommended and I must say I am happy.
It is a pretty little book of age old philosophical advice. It focuses on the importance of art, freedom of imagination and advocates the role of libraries in building intellectual and compassionate human beings. The ideas come alive with the illustrations and deeply resonates with one's creative self :)

However, Amazon as always sucks at packaging. They sent a very old dirty book which I had to request for a replacement. The final delivery was good and I finished reading the book at a stretch within 2hrs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!
By Deepika S on 25 May 2020
This is a book of simple and honest advice by Neil Gaiman. Ofcourse the illustrations are amazing and gives me a glimpse of books I read in my childhood. I bought it thinking that it's a fiction but still I'm not disappointed as it gives a strong message to be strong in life and to enjoy life.
