A Battle for New India: a story to transform Indian political system~ Chandan SarkarThis is a short fiction story with politics in the backdrop. I haven't read many fictional novels which are purely based on politics and hence this topic was refreshing to read. This book can be completed in one go as a short story.The entire plot is developed around the main character, Srikant, who is a music enthusiast who devotes his entire time to his passion for music. He is intelligent, smart and popular among his peers as he is an excellent singer. An interesting fact about this book is that a person who has no interest in pursuing a political career or who is not at all interested in walking on that path actually decides to do that in his life.Sri is made to choose politics and he eventually decides to carry it forward. There are many other characters in the book. The main purpose of these characters was to portray the development of his character. I really liked the concept and Sri's political views are really inspiring to read.Our current political system is so corrupted, some young and intellectual individuals like Srikant will make a way to a New India.I liked the plot, it would have been better if the book had some more chapters. I was wondering what could have happened next and the book ended. The narration was short and precise, there were no subpots. I felt that some portions had extra detailing which was not relevant to the plot. Sumana's character was so raw and true. Guruji also plays an important role. Overall, this is a good book.
