Product description

Review

[A] lovely exploration of empathy and thoughtfulness. ― Publishers Weekly

These days, it seems more important than ever for books to show young people how to act with thoughtfulness, civility, and kindness. ―
The New York Times Book Review

The precisely worded, hopeful text offers ideas to ponder, while the artwork places them within kidfriendly contexts, such as a multiracial classroom and a neighborhood park. Nicely designed for drawing out children’s ideas and opening a discussion on kindness, this picture book works well one-on-one or read aloud in a classroom, for the expressive pictures are still effective from a distance. A thoughtful picture book. ―
Booklist

The book presents the powerful message that small acts of kindness matter, and that they can build with other acts of kindness to make a difference . . . A valuable addition on this topic [that] will promote conversation about what it means to be kind. ―
School Library Journal

Here’s a thoughtful and thought-provoking look at what it means to be kind and how kindness can spread.Throughout the author leaves space for readers/listeners to reflect on the narrator’s words, which never once become preachy. Jen Hill’s illustrations are enormously appealing capturing so well the feelings of Tanisha, the narrator, their classmates and the wider community. -- Jill Bennett ―

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect book to make children under Acts of Kindness.
Reviewed in India on 8 April 2021
I bought this book for my 4 year old. Initially on the first read I wasn’t being able to figure what the book is talking about. But oh my my the second read and I was surprised by how the pictorial representations make the story complete. Children love to see pictorial representatives of everything they learn and this book is just about that. This books helps a child figure what all can come under the huge umbrella of KINDNESS.

No doubt it is New York Times Best Seller. Please don’t go by the negative reviews. I too wasn’t sure when I was ordering but the book is super amazing. My child understands each and every instance and this has become her favourite go to book. She has starting doing all that is shown in the book right from offering her unused shoes to the younger under priveledged kids to putting the dishes back in the sink for the help to clean. Yes she is doing it all. If anyone dares to raise their voice in the house she comes to rescues and says PLEASE BE KIND, don’t shout.

If you are reading this I am sure you can relate if you have a toddler at home. A must buy book undoubtedly!!!
