Q & A with Arpit Vageria the author of You are My Reason to Smile
Arpit Vageria writes scripts for Indian television for a living and writes romance stories for the love of it.
We ask Arpit a few questions about his writing, love, friendship and the challenges he faced while writing.
Q 1. How would you introduce your book Be My Perfect Ending?
A. We all run behind stories that have happy endings, right? Be My Perfect Ending in totality breaks the myth that demands every story to have a happy ending. Sometimes all you need is a relatable story.
When people ask me how it is different from all other stories in the market, I just say one thing – There is not even in a single situation or line in the book where you would feel that the author is forcefully trying to impress you. After some pages, the book’s character would start speaking with you and at times, your instinct would answer. But that’s where the whole suspense/thrill of the book lies, when you think you know the answer and you don’t.
Q 2. You’ve also written for best of the Indian Television shows and award functions, how much does that help you in novel writing?
A. I am an author first and a television writer after that. My sensibility is more of an author than a television writer, but still it helps. Television allows me to bring the funny side within me alive. It helps me in a hell lot of things in a book, especially when I am trying to create a comedy situation in a book or writing some light banter between the characters.
Q 3. Almost every book of yours is a bestseller, how do you make it possible? How do you choose the topic of any book?
A. I just try and write the stories that need to be told. Many won’t believe, but many of my novels are inspired from the one line that some or other of my dreams has given me. All of us see dreams in the night, but I write them down and that’s been my practice in all the books that I’ve written in the past.
I don’t sit and think of a story intentionally, but I wait for the story to come to me.
There’s one common email that I get from hundreds of readers every week and all of them say - It looks like you’ve written down our own story. For them, it’s their own story and probably that’s the reason why they prefer to read them all.
The main reason behind them being a bestseller is the love that I get from the readers from all across the nation.
Q 4. How much do you read?
A. I don’t fix any target for reading as such, but I still love reading lots of books, whenever I get time. If someone would ask me to go on a romantic date and someone else would allow me to read books, I would probably fall in love with the latter person more.
Books allow me to travel the world, be a different person at a different time, love somebody else’s life for those few hours and give me a learning of a lifetime. I can trade everything to keep it like this forever. Books are life-changing.
Q 5. Any advice for budding authors?
A. Read, read, but most importantly, READ. Also please READ. Last thing - READ.

Sometimes we love that person in our life who would've change our life with his perception but not everyone got that chance to do so.
Those are the ones who are very luckier, those who can change the lifestyle of a girl, the ones who made her forgets her past and all the traumas she went in her life.
The way Armaan put his efforts to love Sara and made assure her happiness is commendable, despite all the hustle and bustle of their professional lives they both managed their personal life very well..
Every girl should have one gentleman in her life who would make her belive that not every man are same.
Some will hurt her, some will taunt her, some will cheat her, some will use her but the real ones are those who would do every possible efforts to make her feel happier than ever before😍😍
This Love story is full of emotions, funs also with buried truths, teaser and shocking twists... specially the last one I had tears in my eyes and of Sandy which was shock I never thought of while reading...
Armaan played all role perfectly my be it of obedient Son, Brother, Friend, Collegue, flatmate and lastly d perfect lover...on the other hand Sara is completely different she didn't get any of the role perfectly as she got love but got betrayed eventually she lost her faith in love as दूध का जला छाछ भी फूँक-फूँक कर पीता है... some doors on life needed to be closed, for they would lead nowhere..
Love story is written with super cool beginning but at the end is real shock...as we forget that in real life, reality is mostly far different from our imagination...Loving doesn't mean to have the person next to you always.. life simply doesn't begin or end ..life goes on..U still breathe U still care and U still alive...
Be My Perfect Ending is a story of love that knows no bounds, of endings that are far from ordinary and new beginnings that hold a promise of LOVE.
Arpitji very well written with amazing flow of words specially Sara' s diary and suspense of twists n turns!!

READ IT IF YOU BELIEVE that FATE ALWAYS MAKES YOU CRY IN LIFE .
Pros :
Use of delicate words was amazing ..even the hard emotions are conveyed with such a simple words that was the biggest beauty in this book.
The story will makes you keep reading till the last chapter until you realise what happened to sara.
Cons :
The book tried to show the reality but there are some chapters in this book shows it was still a cinematic view
1.True lovers understand each other first rather than first understanding each other physically. But the chapter which describes physical understanding before even making a love proposal shows immaturity and unrealistic.
2.Hope is a cheap thing that everyone agrees as described in this book but “dashing the hope of the reader at the end just to make it as a perfect ending “ was not convincing and appealing
Last but not least :
While reading the book I felt like I watched a South Indian movie like “Raja Rani” (where the heroine died unexpectedly and took away audience hope and happiness ).

Last but not least :
While reading the book I felt like I watched a South Indian movie like “Raja Rani” (where the heroine died unexpectedly and took away audience hope and happiness ).

The ending is the most vital part of a book and this book really proves that sometimes a happy ending is not perfect at all. I could not imagine a more perfect ending to the story myself. And for the characters, well I have read like hundreds of books by now but I am yet to find as selfless a character as Armaan was. The sacrifices he did in order to save Sara, I don't think anyone can do it. Giving your Life in order to save a person you love is truly an example of pure and unadulterated love.
The storm comes when you least expect it to be.. This is the saying that comes true. Just when you think that the story is differently going to end happily a sudden twist of events happens and gives readers a much bigger reason to think about the existence of oneself. Overall a nice read with interesting characters and a lot to learn about the things that we ignore and take for granted.
Read first few pages and now i don't even feel like readingit further.
Very first and probably last book of this author in my collection.
