The story is such a cute one and a good book for kidlettes who are loosing their first tooth :) great author and writes in a wonderful way!!! The illustrations are amazing and the quality of the book is good. I would definitely recommend this book - great idea for parents and/or grandparents wanting a fun reading moment with their little ones :)
We love Bear and his friends. We have several of the books in the series. The illustrations and story have such quaint charm and bright character. It is a simple, short book (5 minute read or less). I bought it mostly because my daughter has her first wiggly tooth. She was a little apprehensive about it at first, so I thought the book would be a fun way to help her realize it's nothing to be scared of. It worked! Now she talks about her wiggly tooth and it falling out with anticipation, not fear. It is not a detailed, in-depth story by any means, but worked well for us as a way to continue the conversation about losing baby teeth and what to expect. It is a lovely picture book that we spend just as much time admiring the illustrations as reading the story.
This book was not as good as its predecessor titled bear feels sick. The author tried to keep the same flow of that book and repeated bear's loose tooth just like they repeated the phrase bear feels sick in the previous book. However, that phrase just did not seem to have the same charm or emotion of its predecessor. I think finding a different phrase would greatly improve the book.
Overall, the images were lovely and my son loves bear and her friends. My son specifically asked for this book and I am sure it will work for when the time comes. I have not found another loose tooth book to pick up so this is what we will use
