Below Zero: From the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis Kindle Edition
From the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella...
It will take the frosty terrain of the Arctic to show these rival scientists that their chemistry burns hot.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn...
Hannah's got a bad feeling about this. Not only has the NASA aerospace engineer found herself injured and stranded at a remote Arctic research station-but the one person willing to undertake the hazardous rescue mission is her longtime rival.
Ian has been many things to Hannah: the villain who tried to veto her expedition and ruin her career, the man who stars in her most deliciously lurid dreams... but he's never played the hero. So why is he risking everything to be here? And why does his presence seem just as dangerous to her heart as the coming snowstorm?

About the author

Ali Hazelwood is a multi-published author—alas, of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, crocheting, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).

Yup, this is the best out of the three novellas. I wouldn’t have minded if it continued for a bit longer!

And, boy, am I glad I decided to do just that.
Long story short: I really struggled to read Below Zero. Writing is confusing- it doesn't flow, I had to focus REALLY hard not to let my mind wander- I honestly struggled to get 'into' this story.
Second, characters were unlikable- Ian had the most potential, but Ali basically butchered him even before he had any chance of survival.
Finally, this whole story felt forced, as if Ali was REALLY trying to write a cool book, oh so funny and oh so edgy. She didn't. This was a dud.
I'm still tempted to find out if the hype about LH is worth it, but I'll make sure I have these few quid to spare.
I don't recommend this book, unless you want your brain to fry.

Below Zero is the last part of The STEMinist Novellas series. This on focuses on Hannah- a brilliant aerospace engineer with serious trust issues. When she meets Ian for the first time, she is not able to provide the level of involvement he needs. Now, injured and stranded in the Arctic cold, she needs to reconcile with the thought of being rescued by the man responsible for the delay to her project, the man who still inhabits her daydreams…
I think this was my favourite novella in the series. I would recommend it to all fans of romance and Ali Hazelwood.

Truly enjoyed this book totally recommend

I loved the flashbacks, I thought it was a good addition to the story and added that little but more of a depth to their backstory. The pining over five years made more sense with seeing how they initially met each other and made you want to root for them more.
I ultimately enjoyed this short, fun read and would have even liked to see it be a full length novel.

Ian and Hannah meet when she interviews him about his role in NASA. Insta-lust ensues and Hannah wants to have sex - Ian doesn’t want to be a one-night stand. They agree to go their separate ways … until work throws them together.
A misunderstanding breeds resentment but then, when Ian becomes her white knight, they are thrown back together. Will it go any different this time?
Again, I loved the time hopping of these shorts. We start close to the end and then move forward to meet that point. I love it. Both main characters are fabulous and I really enjoyed their chemistry. I still think book one may be my top pick but this is a very close second.
It will be a reread.
