I first read this book many moons ago when I was at school and adored it - read it today and boy, was it hard going. It's only reading this now that I realise what a vacuous, annoying bunch they really are/were. The teenage me would easily have given it 5*, the older and dare i say it - wiser me, can barely bring myself to give it 2*.

This book is a fantastic intro to Amy's personality and the conflict with Enid is something I have seen not unlike real life. The ending is funny without being cloying. As most books, Jessica has a funny back story of her own. FYI Pascal - Tahoe is a lot further from southern california than these books seem to describe! LOL
