4.0 out of 5 stars A light fiction read
By Anmol on 14 May 2021
The story is about 3 young boys - Javed, Shekhar and Arjun and their (crazy) dream of opening the first ever cafe in their hometown, Rampur. The title is pretty straightforward and attractive. The word cafe brings with it the feel of a cozy little space which is every reader’s paradise so it’s imperative for every reader to pick this one!
I’ve read the work of this author before and enjoyed it too. This one was no disappointment either. The only thing that didn’t please me was the fact that the blurb didn’t match the storyline. In the blurb it’s mentioned that the three guys have a dream of opening a cafe but due to a lot of criticism, they almost give up on their dream until one of the guys falls in love and the girl brings with her a new motivation for all three of them, whereas in the story the girl is introduced in the very first chapter (which I totally wasn’t expecting considering the hierarchy of events in the blurb).
Other than this, I liked the plot and narration was on point too. The story makes a nice tea time read which I absolutely enjoyed. It portrays a lot of similarities as present in our society and I loved how the three friends dealt with the orthodox approach in the story.
