The Caraval Complete Trilogy Kindle Edition
'If you ever wondered how it would feel to step into a living dream, here's your ticket' - Stacey Lee
Welcome to Caraval, where nothing is quite what it seems . . .
Scarlett has never left the tiny isle of Trisda, pining from afar for the wonder of Caraval, a once-a-year week-long performance where the audience participates in the show.
Caraval is Magic. Mystery. Adventure. And for Scarlett and her beloved sister Tella it represents freedom and an escape from their ruthless, abusive father.
When the sisters' long-awaited invitations to Caraval finally arrive, it seems their dreams have come true. But no sooner have they arrived than Tella vanishes, kidnapped by the show's mastermind organiser, Legend.
Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But nonetheless she quickly becomes enmeshed in a dangerous game of love, magic and heartbreak. And real or not, she must find Tella before the game is over, and her sister disappears forever.

Scarlett and her sister, Donatella, get a special invite to Caraval, a notoriously magical game that is never held in the same place twice.
They are aided in their quest by a sailor, Julian, who proves to be one of the most mysterious and secretive people that Scarlett has ever met. On top of that, she and her sister are separated, and Scarlett has no clue as to which parts of the game are real or fake.
𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟮 - 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆
Mere weeks after the last Caraval, another is being held for Empress Elantine’s birthday.
Scarlett and Tella tag along for this one, too, but it is Tella that ends up playing this time. However, she’s only playing because she has been promised that winning the game will bring her face to face with Legend himself, and if she can get his true name, her mother - who disappeared when she and Scarlett were children - will be returned to them.
𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟯 - 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲
Now all the Fates have been released, it’ll only be a matter of time before they awaken and wreak havoc on the world again.
With Jacks fighting to win Tella over, Legend wanting to possess her whilst refusing to allow himself to love her, and Julian constantly becoming his own worst enemy by lying to Scarlett, will any of them be able to see who the true big bad is? Let alone defeat him?
Review:
Scarlett is naive and innocent, but also frustrating. Goes on about how she knows deception and lies and there’s no way she could be fooled by the game. Doesn’t understand how people truly go mad within Caraval. And yet believes everything she sees at face value from the SECOND she steps foot on the isle in the first book.
Both sisters are actually kind of infuriating with their secrets and lies and rash decisions. The number of times one of them storms off without listening to something they know might be important, or doesn’t let someone finish a sentence, or sneaks off without telling anyone where they’re going when they know it’s a mistake…honestly, they frustrated me to no end.
I made so, so many different guesses on so, so many different things as each book went on and I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong on most counts! Legend’s true identity, especially, had me second-guessing myself constantly. It’s unusual to find writing so unpredictable and intriguing.
And the ending is kind of perfect.

The neutral characters growing to be just a about good and the unpredictable nature of the Fates was exquisite. If only Caraval was real…
A day after Caraval feels a smidge less colourful.
Great ending too :))
