An ok continuation of the story. I have to say I did prefer the first book. Though the characters have developed and moved on since the last book trauma and people returning from the dead keep pulling them back.
The next generation of Watchers are adapting to the new world. They have started Sanctuary protecting people and benign demons/supernatural creatures alike. However they still might have some traitors in their midst. As well as people who have left and do not have the same world view.
I did like Nina's learning about her new powers, and their origins. The fights are really well done till the end. The location of the fight was very confusing and people falling over the edge and popping up again was strange.
I like the Nina who is only 16 the same age Buffy was when she got her powere is mentored by the more established Slayers (I do wish there was more of this) and a couple of cameo appearances from some classic Buffy side characters. I do which the final battle came together a bit better at the end.

Into the world of Buffy the vampire slayer
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 December 2020Verified Purchase
As a young adult I loved watching Joss Wheldons' Buffy. I always wondered what happened after. This book take this world and gives you, small cameos of characters you love like Clem and Oz mixed with fully fledged characters you will love.
The story is a continuation of Slayer. We being finding out Leo somehow returns Ninas' slayer powers. The castle is full of new residents all trying to make Ninas' vision of a Sanctuary for all, a reality. Her sister Artemis is struggling with her identity. The story has lots of lovely twists and comedy moments. More than anything the message of both books have been to embrace who you are and that everyone needs someone. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend reading more by this author.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first book in this series. So much so that I had pre ordered this one straight away.
This continues the story in a fantastic way and sets it up for what I hope will be satisfying conclusion

An absolute must for buffy fans

It is almost impossible to create something within a canon as established as buffy which strikes the balance between exciting new ideas and scenarios, and familiar aspects of a world loved by so many.
This book manages it. hands down.
The perfect frequency of comedy easter eggs for existing fans, and the right amount of history for newbies to the world.
I await the next book eagerly.
