Review

"A familiar cry for parents of young children - when your young one can't wait, share with them this story of Ted who thought Christmas would never come." ― - Parents in Touch

"It is a wonderful kind story with lovable characters. Parents and children would easily identify themselves in similar situations, and will chuckle together, reading this amusing and entertaining book." ― - Chex Maximka

"We've all been there; impatient children during the festive season shouting "Is it Christmas yet?", and Big Bear is no different with this shout coming from Ted every five minutes in the lead up to the big day. This delightful book follows their preparations, Ted's impatience, Big Bear's tolerance towards the mad rushing around, and then the happiness of Christmas morning and ripping the presents open." ― - The Boy & Me

"This beautifully illustrated story perfectly captures the excitement and anticipation of Christmas for small children. Is it Christmas Yet? is a wonderful story to read during Christmas preparations and leaves you with a warm, festive feeling inside." ― - Storysnug blog

"This charming story is an ideal book to read in the run up to the big day." ― - Baby London Magazine

"It captures a child's anticipation and excitement about the big day and what's really important when preparing for Christmas. This is a perfect story to read with your little one." ― - Routes 2 Reading

"Sometimes the simplest titles are the best. Jane Chapman has a wonderfully sympathetic drawing style when tackling bears, and this depiction of an over-excited cub and his weary parent is no exception." ― - Minerva Reads --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ted is VERY eager for Christmas to arrive!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2019
Most grown ups know the feeling...'Are we nearly there, yet?', when you have covered 7 miles of 350!
Well this book is a spin on that theme, 'Is it Christmas, yet?'...as Ted tries the patience of Big Bear in the build up!

From the back cover (last image below refers):

🎄 ‘Christmas is coming and Ted is SO excited, he’s just about ready to pop!
“Is it Christmas yet?” he cries.
“IS IT CHRISTMAS YET?”

Poor Ted – will it EVER be CHRISTMAS?’

~ TITLE: IS IT CHRISTMAS YET?

‘Printed in China’

ooOoo

Follow the 2 bears, preparing for the big day across colourful pages with brilliant illustrations, from author Jane Chapman, as always. The facial expressions convey a mixture of emotions as Big Bear gets a bit grumpy with Ted’s never-ending enthusiasm!

Things don’t always go as planned:

🎁 ‘But wrapping was tricky…
and surprisingly sticky!’

…and Ted is a little picky, from time to time, especially with his choice of Christmas tree that ends with some huffing & puffing (and frayed nerve endings) …but…all is well, at the end.

ooOoo

Well bound (7 x double-thread sewn) and measuring around 24.5 cm x 27.75 cm, the colourful, thick card cover has embossed shiny silver titling that glistens in the change of light, enhancing the matte finish, silver coloured edging to the tinsel & baubles that Ted is decorating ‘Big Bear’ with, on the front.

The book opens to 32 shiny finish pages with the story spanning 24, in double page spread format.
The very first page is an opportunity to claim ownership (1st image below refers).

Each double page spread has a few lines of text in black, ENHANCED at times, FOR EFFECT, giving that chance to all join in, if reading to a group!
