It's a must have book for those aspiring artists who want to work on human body.
The book starts with general description of common terms used in Human Anatomy & then it enters into various sections of human body e.g. head, torso, arms, hands, legs, feet.
It explains these sections at 3 levels - basic skeleton - bones of the section (e.g. torso) , muscles of that section (muscles of torso), & then superficial layer (skin of torso).
It also explains what changes occur at superficial level when a particular movement happens e.g. when you lift your shoulders up - which bones move & in what direction the bones move.
So overall - it is must buy for artists who wants to learn about human body in artistic viewpoint.
The cover and pages of the book is so good that you would love to read it for the sake of its beauty.
As far as the content is related, it is very detailed.
Superb service by Amazon In & the seller....

So glad i had the chance to get a new copy!
It is, also, nicely complemented with Mrs Winslow's Anatomy In Motion book!
It is a very detailed book. The drawings are exactly what was required, showing bones and muscles in good clear line drawings. The text is also well written and informative. Anatomy which used to be a required subject for artists has been gradually phased away, but for figurative work it is useful, and used to be considered vital, to understand the underlying structure of the body, whether drawing it in movement or as a portrait.
My only criticism is that the author has not considered to include diagrams of the human infant and child showing the typical proportions etc at various stages ands ages: that would have been most helpful. However, I don't think I've seen this anywhere in an artists anatomy book, only specialist books on drawing children.
