Just as in it's description, this book is indeed best for fans of Narnia for this too has a secret magical door that takes this adorable duo of sisters Imogen and Marie to a land that garners more surprises (and dangers) than they could fathom.
This story showcases and preaches not only a beautiful sibling bond, but also friendship, valour and imagination. This gave me all those giddy feelings of being back to childhood once again.
The writing style is fun and exciting, which I feel would be a plus point for young readers. The world-building is fabulous to say the least, and the characters are so so adorable and lovable. And to add an extra feather to the cap, it is illustrated by Chris Riddell. Well, what more can one ask for!
The best part is, there's a sequel, yay! I'm so glad that the adventure continues. I'm going to pass this on to my sister who's in middle school. She's going to love it!
