About the authors
Sarah Van Goethem is a Canadian Author who resides in Southwestern Ontario. She spent lazy childhood summers on the farm, reading on the old tire swing beneath the maple tree, believing in fairytales. Now she weaves that memorable enchantment into her own short stories & novels.
She’s also convinced she was born in the wrong decade, maybe even the wrong century. She’s a nature lover, a wanderer of the fields & forests, and gatherer of vintage. Inspired by the natural world and the past, she blends history with the magic of nature in her writing.
You can find her at auctions, thrift stores, the back of her farm, maybe an abandoned house. Always in a rocking chair.
Most recently, Sarah's novels have been longlisted for the Bath Children's Novel Award and in PitchWars. Sarah is represented by Dorian Maffei of Kimberley Cameron & Associates Literary Agency.
Phoebe Darqueling is the pen name of a globe trotting vagabond who currently hangs her hat in Freiburg, Germany. In her “real life” she writes curriculum for a creativity competition for kids in MN. She loves speculative fiction, but especially all things Steampunk and writes about her obsession on SteampunkJournal.org. During 2017, she coordinated a Steampunk novel through the Collaborative Writing Challenge called Army of Brass, and also loves working with authors as an editor. You can also find her short stories in the Chasing Magic and The Queen of Clocks and Other Steampunk Tales anthologies.
Crysta K. Coburn has been writing award-winning stories her whole life. Her first short story was published at the age of sixteen after winning runner-up in a local writing contest. She earned her bachelors degree in creative writing from Western Michigan University in 2005. She is a journalist, fiction writer, poet, editor, podcast co-host, and one-time rock lyrics writer. Find her on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @CrystaKCoburn.
A steadfast and proud sci-fi and fantasy geek, A. F. Stewart was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada and still calls it home. The youngest in a family of seven children, she always had an overly creative mind and an active imagination. She favours the dark and deadly when writing—her genres of choice being fantasy and horror—but she has been known to venture into the light on occasion. As an indie author, she’s published novellas and story collections, with a few side trips into poetry.
