‘India’s John Grisham’ Glimpse
'Vish Dhamija has set the sky as the limit’ New Indian Express
A motiveless murder. A corrupt politician. A judge on trial.
Five years ago, when Akash Hingorani won a trial in court for his friends Priti and Vansh Diwan, he lost his heart to the presiding judge, Shilpa Singh. But the passionate start to their relationship would meet a swift end. And then, nine months after the affair is over, Akash gets a call for help from Judge Shilpa Singh. Arrested in situ – at the scene of the crime – with a knife in her hand, she has been charged with first-degree murder. To make matters worse, the police seem determined to ignore all other evidence that points towards a corrupt politician who had threatened Shilpa while she presided over an ongoing trial against him. The murder charge against Shilpa could easily derail his trial.
Two of India’s best defence lawyers, Akash and Vansh jointly take up the case, but they soon realize they are pitted against one of the sharpest prosecuting brains in the country, Ravi Nanda, who is always a step ahead of them both, and pulls the carpet from under their firm feet. Twice.
In this heart-stopping new thriller from India’s bestselling crime writer, the law itself is baffled and a verdict seems impossible ...

Judge Shilpa Singh is on trail for Murder. And her ex boyfriend, ace advocate Akash Hingorani is called in to defend her. The most baffling thing is that nobody knows who the dead guy is. That’s all I can reveal here without spoilers. A thrilling ride follows inside and outside courtrooms. Remember that this is absolute fiction. No Indian court can ever finish a case as fast as it’s projected in this Novel.
I met Vish Dhamija years ago at the book launch of his second novel Bhendi Bazaar, courtesy my good ( and food ) friend Gunit Singla and I shall be forever indebted to her for introducing me to this wonderfully charming gentleman & author who I can today call a good friend. I have witnessed his journey and progress as an author and have read all his works and enjoyed most of his wonderful creations. Even the ones I have criticised, he has accepted with grace. I know I can be brutally honest to Vish and this time I honestly feel he has hit the bullseye - both with the story as well as the storytelling.
Most people might think that a legal thriller would be a bore with legal jargons and endless courtroom speils abound. Not in this case. Friendship, Romance, Suspense and also a small hint at a possible Vish Dhamija universe under construction, keeps the feverish pace intact. The interspersed humour in albeit a serious plot is terrific and lesser mortals might feel a truck has hit them out of nowhere in the fantastic finale.
COLD JUSTICE is a Cool Read. It is so good that I couldn’t believe I had polished off a good 279 pages at one sitting and still thought that the book got over too fast, until my clock said otherwise post midnight.
Don’t miss it.
Available on Amazon or at the nearest bookshop all over the country.
A fast paced novel with twists and turns that keep the reader engaged from start to finish. The jaw-dropping twist as we round the final bend is truly the grand finale.
Congrats on yet another fine piece of work, Vish!! Can’t wait to see the adaptation of your books on screen.
