Right from the moment Jay's girlfriend was introduced, I knew she would be a heartless personality. It was so obvious! He bought her a damned diamond necklace. Of course she would turn out to be someone who will throw his love away! It was difficult to even see how heartless a girl could be. I mean, which girl asks her boyfriend to let go of his family when his grandmother is stuck in ICU just because it is Valentine's Day? No, cross that off, which person does that?
Seeing the two talk did nothing but gross me out.
I liked the attempt of relating love to a cookery show but by the time the story ended, the attempt was just that - an attempt. Nothing interesting.
This story revolves around the life of Jay, a dynamic 20th generation young man who expectedly seeks to celebrate his first Valentine's Day with Tina. Jay comes from a family where he constantly sees his grandparents fighting over petty matters. He compares their differences, their issues and behaviours towards one another and this leaves him even more confused about the notion of love, relationships and heartbreak.
However, as he falls in love with a girl from his college, Tina, things start looking up for him. The turning point in the story arrives when right on the morning of Valentine's Day, and unfortunate disaster steals away that one chance for him to experience love the way he imagined.
The book gets its title from the chronicles of love story between Jay's grandparents. They come from different backgrounds and have struggled through time and situations to create a life for themselves. They fight over even petty issues like a TV Remote and the issues get worse as we find that Grandmother is a TV addict. Her weird and amusing commentaries while she watches her favourite cookery show with rapture and attention irks and disturbs the other family members but for a reader, brings out veritable questions to think about. This book is the second on in the anthology, "It's All About Love" and the author has done a great job packing a beautiful plot with varied emotions and commentary on life.
The story is about modern day relationships versus the old ones. Are we just looking at the materialistic aspect of a relationship rather than dwelling on the emotional aspect? This is what this story made me think.
The story is narrated beautifully. The simple language makes it a pleasant read. I loved the way the author has portrayed the emotions. He doesn't say it out loud. The narration itself speaks about it. I feel that it is the best thing about this book.
I would like to quote something from the book. It says 'We should wait for the right one, the one who looks past the price tags of the gifts and missed dinner dates.' This is so serene. It is calming.
I recommend this book to all romance lovers. This story will change your mind.
I rate it with 4.5/5 stars.

Blurb: The blurb of the book is written perfectly highlighting the core of the story.
Cover: The front cover of the book is eye catching and it is justifying the base story aptly.
Title: The title of the book is catchy, good enough with a simple touch of innocent love I must say.
Language & narration: Language of the book is lucid & simple enough to comprehend and the touching way of narrating the events balancing the emotions accordingly is undoubtedly a treat for the readers.
Plot: The plot of the book crafted thoughtfully keeping the aspect of a Love series in mind. I’d like to say that, in a simple yet deeply significant way, the author developed this second book in this series in heart wrenching way.
Setting: Setting of this story is in Kolkata.
Characterization: The characters of the story are portrayed clearly and every character is finely justified to their respective roles throughout the book. I was actually visualizing them interacting with each other while going through some particular scenes (they are that much real). Name of some characters mentioned in the book are- Rudraprasad Basu, Nalini, *Rajeev Roy, Raj, Jay, Tina, Dev.
Theme: Love, Inspirational.
Content & My Verdict: This book is the 2nd book of the anthology named “It’s all about Love” series by the author Sourabh Mukherjee. I am actually touched by this story deeply, and that’s why I can say that the author is successful in making a reader like me (of course Love story is my top preference in reading) keenly interested to go through this series till the end. 5 to go…
Jay was a youngster who was committed in a relationship with his college mate Tina, since past few months and in their first Valentine’s Day, he had planned something beautiful and surprising as well, for his girlfriend. Jay was a gen next boy; surprise and gift for his partner on the ‘special day’ did cost him a lot actually. Jay was quite familiar with the exceptionally beautiful love journey between his Grandparents and now the changed scenario between them made Jay think otherwise.
Finally the day appeared for which Jay was so excited and eagerly waiting for…even Tina as well. But life has its own way of surprising us… Little did Jay know what he was about to face that evening that will change his mindset & conception about love…forever…
What happened that day & how it did cast an ever lasting impact in Jay’s mind to change his heart and view? What was the basic concept about ‘Love’ in Jay’s mind? What was the eye opener gesture he witnessed that day? To get these answers and to know what does cookery show has to do with love, grab your copy now and go through the same.
Author Sourabh Mukherjee has beautifully portrayed a deeply touching journey of love, feelings and emotions that can melt any heart completely to the core. Today’s modern generation has developed a new definition of love and they are very impatient in judging whether to stay in ‘Love’ or not. They have some other level of celebrating ‘Love’ on ‘special day’s’. They need to realize that ‘Love’ does not need always very big gifts (expensive in amount) or demands high to prove whether there is ‘Love’ present or not; it demands only faith, understanding & stay beside each other even when the situations are tough or not in favor. Love belongs to the heart and soul, and without trust and understanding- love has nothing to do in any relationship. Situation may change but true will show its color at the end of the day for sure. The love, innocence, pain, and every emotion in this story pierced through my heart. True love is what the journey depicts with a valuable message to learn. I would surely be looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.
Recommendation: I would like to recommend this book to every love readers because I think this soulful touching gesture of pure love should reach everyone in love. Thank you.
