As soon as I opened the plastic wrap around the box, I noticed these scuff marks along the corners of the front cover of the box. Random, but shows either manhandling or poor manufacturing. I was preparing myself to be disappointed with the internal contents...
...but everything inside the box is amazing. The map was nice (though definitely a weird combo of paper & ye olde mappe material), the standalone art pieces in the other compartments are nice, the book is epic & has high-quality printing. The whole package is huge, too, making everything feel very grand & sturdy.
Obviously it feels kinda incomplete considering how much further along the show has gone - but it works thematically as a journal filled up halfway along an epic journey. I'm a big fan of the variety of art styles - not every art style works for me & is enjoyable to look at, but the variety ensures that a full party of CR fans will each find plenty of things to love in here.

As many critical role fans would know of the tale of Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein already, I won't go into details about the lore. Instead, my focus is on what the quality of the items that arrived were and its condition. I was apprehensive at first since I know of many an occasion where a nice book or higher priced item would arrive damaged back in the day...but it appears that isn't a problem any longer. This beautiful deluxe edition arrived in its own box within the usual amazon box with air pockets to cushion any minor transportation bumps along the way. Upon taking it out of its own cardboard box, just admiring the clamshell within the shrinkwrap was amazing. I've since quickly gone over each individual item and I have to say the quality is quite exceptional. The only thing I did notice is the art book itself on the covers have little long marks like where the paint is lighter, as if it may be a shallow cut or depression; but I cannot be sure if that is part of the paint's decor since I cannot feel any physical differences. Either case it isn't something that appears worrisome enough for me to think it is actual damage. I rarely write reviews but since saw this did not have one yet, I thought I would help fellow critters out in case they weren't sure about this item on here.
