I don't like the fact that the outside of my 6qt made by crock pot becomes extremely hot and can burn your hand in less then Twenty Min. on low. When putting it on warm food still boils even after Thirty Min. or less. Had a 5qt Crock Pot made by Crock Pot and this never happened. I also have a 5qt crock pot by Hamilton Beach and this doesn't happen either. I don't know if the 6qt crock pot is defective or not. Will try it again a few more times and if it keeps on happening I will send it back and buy a Hamilton Beach 6qt crock pot. Will keep you informed.

I'm amazed that, in this day and age, a product as simple as a Crock Pot can be made this poorly. I got my food all prepped, the device turned on...and when I tried to put the lid on top, I found that it leaves a HUGE gap between the lip of the lid and the place where it is supposed to fit. A Crock Pot is supposed to seal in the cooking heat and moisture, and there is absolutely no way that can happen with this particular item I have. I've had to leave it covered with foil so I could at least get the food cooked that I had already put in. I will be taking steps to exchange the product ASAP. I'm shocked and disappointed.

Don't buy this crock pot unless you like to have your food burned! Even on LOW setting, this repeatedly ruins meat, some areas worse than others. I foolishly read the reviews on Amazon before deciding on this crock pot. I should have gone online and found someone who had compared many brands/models of different crock pots. Apparently, the low setting varies between different brands. This one obviously cooks too hot. There is also the issue of insulation, which can prevent hot spots. I am guessing Crock Pot makes cheap pieces of junk and doesn't invest in materials that will produce a good product. Not only was the crock pot a waste of $32, but a whole lot of food not worth eating. Save your money! The one recommended in the article I saw was a $69 Kitchen Aid. I will need to invest in this to avoid burning/ruining my food.
