Brilliant Storytelling
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 February 2014Verified Purchase
Just like the original Dark Matter (Dark Matter: A Century of Speculative Fiction from the African Diaspora), this is a brilliant collection. Some of the stories stay with you long after you've read them, prompting a second and third and fourth reading. Seriously, more people should read this Dark Matter book and the original.

beautiful, often dark and quite mind twisting

A book full of wondrous stories; beautiful, often dark and quite mind twisting. Some, like "Whipping Boy" by Pam Noles or "Wispers in the Dark" by Walter Mosley were favorites of mine although i could not fully understand the first. The world has turned deeper and more complex.

A worthy collection

There's a bit of everything in here. Supernatural, sci fi, romance, action, sombre critique. Everything I was looking for. My only complaint is that I wish some of the stories were longer.

Lots of Talent

Great selection of stories and really thought provoking essays. Couldn't put it down! I especially love the essay by Jewelle Gomez "The Second Law of Thermodyamics" which transcribes part of a panel discussion at the 28th Annual writers' conference at Clarke Atlanta University.
