We need the words and enlightenment of two of our inspirational leaders during that long ago war. Many of our people today have forgotten why that war was fought, what their sacrifices have preserved for generations.
Now we are fighting a war here at home in America. We are fighting for the same basic values we fought for then. Today it is not firearms alone we battle against but men and women who No longer understand that a tyrant, is always a tyrant, who will use lying words, twist the truth and lead us like lambs to the slaughter.
I truly believe, in my heart and soul, that our current President and his fellow would be dictators, they are fighting a war against us. For the words, We the People, are abhorent to them! They want the things we value destroyed, belittled and for us to accept the home of absolute obediance, slavery. If you cannot hear what they are actually telling us, we, and our children and their children will live as people for generations have lived and died. We will all face being slaughtered, tortured and our families with us.
At my age, death does not frighten me, death will come to me as to each of us. It is no respector of age, wealth not goodness or of evil. But we can choose to fight for goodness, even as we disagree with what that is, there are degrees in that future.
What will we choose? Evil tolerates no degrees, the tyrant is always right in his own view. The people that live and work daily to keep the world running, feeding and caring for all will, this I promise you is true, be nothing to dictators. For them you are nothing and only the strongest, richest and most powerful have any rights. Remember though, if they lose that strength and wealth, they will swiftly find themselves lined up with the sheep to be slaughtered in order to enrich themselves and terrorize the other sheep.
May the creator of everything guard our minds and strip away our blindness. See!
Before it is to late, what confronts us and chose wisely, let the creators light guide us.

The United States came to the aid of England when need for its support was at its greatest. A bond was formed that would not be defeated. While treking through Europe, the US took on the South Pacific. It was America's finest hour. It marked the last time that America could claim victory ever again in worldwide confrontations with the exception of our glorious victory in Iraq.
We can read this book with pride. Enjoy that accompanying music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Hear David McCullough read from the book. And learn from where the title "In The Dark Streets Shineth" was derived. This is such a simple, and yet most meaningful work I think the Author has ever produced. And that I have ever read.
Treat yourself to a very meaningful story. And thank David McCullough for his brilliance and creativity. This is truly his gift to all the free world.
