Jeff Kinney delivers another successful story of Greg and his awkward life which is relatable for pre-teens like my daughter. The comedic events never fail to make her laugh along with the unique illustrations.
Overall this book was a fun read and worth the buy.
As an advanced reader, they are pretty simple for my daughter(10) and she read this book in less than a day.
For my son(7) these are perfect. Written and presented in an engaging style that leads you from page to page with large print and plenty of pictograms to enjoy, for him there is a real satisfaction in sitting down to read and complete a book like this; he gets a great sense of accomplishment from it.
The story itself is very funny. It's got some laugh-out-loud moments and a couple of gross ones too; just what fans of the series can expect to enjoy. We're already eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the series.

So anyway I found the book very good. It took me about 2 hours to read and although I'm 16, I still really liked it. The title of the book really does some it up! It really is hard luck. Rowley gets a girlfriend so Greg is left all by himself and so he tries to find new friends- which is proven tough for someone in middle school! So the book revolves around Greg struggling to find new friends when his only friend is ignoring him. And also making other decisions based on luck!I really do recommend this book. I have all the books and although this one isn't my favourite, it is still really good!
At the end of the book, there are various things to do a few pages after the story has ended. There are a few fun quizzes and other things like 'How well do you know your friend,' 'Predict your future' and 'Things you should do before you are old.'
So I rate this book 5 stars. Don't listen to any of the reviews that give it 1 star. They're usually just complaining about the kindle version where the words overlap the images and aren't actually rating the story itself!
