To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
While the book has a handful of errors, they aren't to bad. This was a good read and I wonder just how the author plans to top this in book three. I recommend this book for those that like military sci-fi.
The Duchess of Terra is in trouble, and she knows it. She just doesn't know how much!
The A!Tol have set Annette an impossible task - they think. The Kanzi think they can take Terra. Annette needs help from a dead man - among others.
Glynn's writing typically sucks me in and makes me want to finish the book - frequently to the detriment of my sleep schedule. This book was no exception. The writing is competent, the characters are at least a step above cardboard, the story-telling is wonderful. There are major supporting characters who are not heterosexual, and that's just part of who they are - it's not commented on, just accepted.
There are a few bits of fortuitous timing as the plot plays out. The bits are appropriately set up, one of them in particular is just *really* lucky in the timing.
I received a free advanced reader's copy in return for the promise of leaving an honest review. I just went and bought a copy of the release version.
