5.0 out of 5 stars A step into the history of science.
Reviewed in India on 8 March 2019
A good read if you want to know the life of one of the most prolific men in science. Einstein was a genius but more than that it was his non conformity to the status quo and inquisitive nature which allowed him to transcend beyond the scientific limits of his time. This book is a great read to know the history of theoretical physics in Europe during the late 1800s to 1940s, a period of time when so much of modern physics was discovered and Einstein had a hand in almost everything! Contrary to popular belief that he flunked his school or college, Einstein had one of the best educations one could have during that time. He truly was a genius, the ability to extrapolate concepts which have never before been formalized requires grit and great resolve of mind. Einstein had some of the most amazing friends who have helped him time and again to reach such a celebrity level although it's evident from the book that he struggled a lot during his younger days.

This biography is well written albeit bereft of any mathematics or physics to explain complex concepts of general relativity, instead it's more of a historical account of the early days of theoretical physics and a deep look into the human life Einstein had.

Edit: the cover absolutely sucks. Its got Geoffrey rush's picture as Einstein.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome quality great book
Reviewed in India on 20 July 2020
Amazing quality.
I received the book in a very fine quality.
I got it from 431.
Page quality is good.
I received the 2018 edison, I watched the series Genius by national geography and it intrigued me to learn more about this man, of course he was one of the great geniuses of all time but he was also a human,he made mistakes in his life both social and personal and at the same time he was making great scientific achievements that just changed the course of physics and our perception.
And Walter Isaacson is a great biographer and it is always wonderful to read his biographies.
One should read this books and other biographies of great people, there is so much to learn but so little time....

Well after I finished reading it I can say this book is worth the time for a curious mind.
What a life, his contribution to physics is so great that mordern cosmology is based on his relativity theory!wow....
