Andaleeb's heroes are mostly supportive men (that itself should make this fiction!), women firebrands in their very conventional, normal lives. She isn't out there espousing radical characters with radical life decisions- these stories could very well be yours and mine. Aditi and Sandeep's story rekindles lost love and is a very mature love story. Her feelings towards Sandeep and the distancing is very real, his goodness is a little stretched, but I'm biased.
What I'd have loved to see more of: The reason behind Sandeep distancing himself from Aditi could have been explored more, Suhas and Natasha seemed like props and wonder if they could've done more. Natasha's inlaws seem too progressive for reality ;)
I was looking forward to Aditi & Sandeep's story (and the author will testify how I kept badgering her to write it soon!) because unlike the other 3 books, not much had been said about these two characters in the series save for a passing mention. So there was very little background to build up on, hence I think the ability to play around with the characters more without any restrictions of continuity.
Sandeep is a tycoon with an immense, deep-rooted love for his mother & his sister, the apple of his eye. He entrusts the planning of her wedding to Aditi, his college best friend because she's the best in the business. But were they just friends, or something more? Is his motive to hire her as the wedding planner just to give his beloved sister the wedding of her dreams or is it to revive all those college memories and make something more out of them?
Andaleeb answers these questions through the course of the story, that juggles beautifully between the past & the present. While in college, Sandeep was affable guy whom everyone loved to love, it was Aditi who brought down his defenses & truly understood him for what he was. But even she wasn't aware of his deepest secret, one that affected his life in more ways than one.
In the present, it is clear that Sandeep & Aditi are attracted to each other, but what will come of this attraction? Will their romance be given a second chance? How will love find a way, when there are walls up everywhere?
The chemistry between them is sizzling, but there is so much more passion, love, understanding & angst too, as well as a mutual respect for work & families. Seriously, what's not to love about this love story that has all the makings of a definite happily-ever-after!
Andaleeb wins my heart yet again & I'd strongly recommend this as a must read!
The story is about friendship, family, romance, insecurities and second chances and has been portrayed beautifully. The characters are realistic and relatable and so are their emotions. The characters from the previous book in the series make their appearances off and on and that really helped me stay connected to the series.
I really hope we can find Ghazal’s story in the next book of the series.
I loved the book... and as usual Andaleeb's style of keeping it real stands out! She just knows how to make a woman beautiful... inside out!
Once again, Andaleeb has won our hearts with her wonderful writing.
