Christopher Nuttall has been planning sci-fi books since he learned to read. Born and raised in Edinburgh, Chris created an alternate history website and eventually graduated to writing full-sized novels. Studying history independently allowed him to develop worlds that hung together and provided a base for storytelling. After graduating from university, Chris started writing full-time. As an indie author, he has published fifty novels and one novella (so far) through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

Professionally, he has published The Royal Sorceress, Bookworm, A Life Less Ordinary, Sufficiently Advanced Technology, The Royal Sorceress II: The Great Game and Bookworm II: The Very Ugly Duckling with Elsewhen Press, and Schooled in Magic through Twilight Times Books.

Another ripping yarn from Chris in his easy, naturally readable style. His knack of getting you to read and read to discover where he is going with the plot makes it hard to put his works down. The plot has echoes of Ringworld but is still fresh and unique with the potential for plenty more plot lines to answer all the questions this book generated.

I've loved the Ark Royal series but this just didn't do it for me. To wordy and it took ages to go anywhere. I started skimming paragraphs, then pages, then the last 20%. It seemed to me, at least, to be out of kilter with the Ark Royal series. A sad way for me to have to leave what has been a GREAT series.

Chris is a prolific author who seems to publish about 3 books a month, I’m not a fan of all of his story arcs but this one is really good (along with cast adrift another of my favourites) because he publishes regularly it’s fantastic to keep on top of the story. Highly recommended
