About Eryn Scott
Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.
She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?
She has two completed cozy mystery series. Pepper Brooks, a six book set, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. The Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are perfect for readers who like a pinch of paranormal in their mysteries. There are eight books in that completed series. Eryn's also has a few ongoing series. One is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Her latest ongoing series, Whiskers and Words Mysteries, is all about a woman who runs a bookshop that doubles as a rescue cat sanctuary. Starting in 2023, she'll be starting a brand new series as well!

“A ghost mystery for readers who don’t usually enjoy the paranormal.”
Book 1 - Steeped in SuspicionPebble Cove is not the sleepy coastal town Rosemary remembers from her childhood. Ghosts are everywhere, and only she can see them.
When Rosemary Woodmere inherits her estranged grandmother's Victorian teahouse, she doesn’t expect to also inherit a ghost named Asher from the 1920s.
Things get weirder for Rosemary.
Her grandma was supposedly murdered.
A body washes up on the beach, and the police suspect her of the man's murder.
She's trying to navigate her newfound ability to talk to ghosts.
And she doesn't even know the first thing about tea.
Rosemary's experience as a librarian hasn't prepared her to solve a murder, but everyone around her is steeped in suspicion, and she has to find the truth before someone else ends up dead.
Book 2 - Matcha Do About Murder
Pebble Cove is home to more than just fishermen, Victorian houses, and coastal beauty. It also harbors long-running feuds and buried secrets.
When a local man drops dead after drinking a matcha tea latte, Rosemary Woodmere suspects foul play. As a witness to the murder, she’s called in for questioning.
At the station, she meets a new ghost and learns the town’s police force has a dark past when it comes to covering up murder. She might be off the hook, but can she let the case go when she fears the police might be repeating history?
To make things even more difficult, Rosemary’s life with ghosts is getting complicated. While she searches for the truth about how Asher died, Rosemary attempts to help a local spirit encountering her own difficulties with her death. And while a little ghostly help might give Rosemary a leg up in this case, will it be enough when she comes face-to-face with the real killer?
Book 3 - A Score to Kettle
Pebble Cove residents were wary of the new commune at The Pines even before someone ended up dead.
Rosemary is excited to cater her first event at the newly opened commune’s full moon festival. When a young woman is found murdered in her yurt, it’s clear these rich wannabe hippies aren’t as peaceful as they pretend.
As the investigation unfolds, Rosemary realizes these commune members have more secrets than they do trust funds. She can’t help but feel Chief Clemenson is, again, one step behind.
In addition to working the case, being at The Pines provides the perfect opportunity to investigate Asher’s death. Solving any mystery is difficult; solving one over a century old seems almost impossible. But just as Rosemary starts to make headway in both cases, a violent storm rolls in from the sea. Will the wind and rain wash away any hope of finding the murderer?
These books are part of a completed cozy mystery series. They are clean with no gore and no swearing. The ghosts are the only paranormal aspect in the series. And there are definitely cats because ... well, there has to be. :)
Book 4 - Chai, Chai Again
Pebble Cove is known for giving tourists the cold shoulder, but a frozen body is something new.
The people of Pebble Cove are thrown into a forced hibernation when the worst snowstorm in a decade hits the Oregon Coast. They expect to find damages once the snow thaws, but a frozen body down by the pier comes as a terrible surprise.
Rosemary is keeping warm with an abundance of chai tea, wooly sweaters, and further research into Asher’s past. But when a second body is found, she can’t deny the chilling thoughts that the two deaths might be connected. Or that this might not be the end.
Book 5 - Dazed and Infused
Have the people of Pebble Cove welcomed a killer into their midst?
Two women wash up on the beach in front of Rosemary’s tea shop. One is dead. The other is wounded and can’t even remember her name. Is she also a victim or the killer?
When it becomes clear that the only souls who can help solve this mystery are those of the ghostly persuasion, Rosemary has to get involved. She must identify the killer before they strike again.
Book 6 - Not by Oolong Shot
Pebble Cove’s most infamous house is about to get a makeover, but can changing the outside get rid of the curse held within its walls?
High up in the cliffs behind the town of Pebble Cove, a haunted house looks out over the ocean. When the cursed house sells after sitting vacant for decades, the locals are concerned. Horrible things happened there.
The buyers, triplet brothers famous for their house-flipping television show, are dismissive of the town’s warnings. When history repeats itself and one of them dies, who’s to blame?
Hired to cater for the crew, Rosemary is first on-site to find the grisly scene. Her instincts tell her that there’s more to this murder than meets the eye, and along with her ghostly friends, she’s the only one who can uncover the truth.
These books are all clean with no gore and no swearing. Starting from the beginning with this series will provide the best reading experience. The ghosts are the only paranormal aspect in the series. And there are definitely cats because ... well, there has to be. :)

Even though it means quitting her fancy New York editor job, she now owns the bookstore of her dreams.
Well, almost. She definitely didn’t dream about a dead body showing up in her alley.
Found with no identification, the police plaster the man’s face everywhere, along with the name of her bookshop, inundating Lou with negative press before she can even open. Worse, Lou was one of the last people to see him alive, and she didn’t even get his name.
Worried the mystery man’s family is left without the answers she so desperately needed in her husband’s death, Lou tries to help find the man’s identity. On closer inspection, she realizes her conversation with the mystery man was full of clues. Starting with a confusing book page he left behind, Lou follows the trail.
If she can solve this mystery, her bookstore might have a chance at being known for something more than murder.

Book 7 - Love ‘Em and Leaf ‘Em
Love is in the air in Pebble Cove. Unfortunately, so is murder.
After two years of seeing ghosts, Rosemary Woodmere has never encountered a spirit who has appeared so soon after they were murdered. But the ghost of Dominic Frost proves it’s possible, and he immediately begs her to help find his killer.
Unfortunately, the local playboy has left behind a long list of scorned lovers, with ample motives to kill. Even dead, the spirit spends more time flirting than helping Rosemary with the case.
In contrast to Dominic’s failed relationships, everyone in Rosemary’s life seems to be coupling up. Her mom’s wedding is fast approaching, Jolene’s on vacation with her new beau, and even Callie has a promising date.
When Rosemary’s search for Asher’s killer leads her to his distant relative, the similarities between him and Asher are unmistakable, with one noticeable difference: he’s not a ghost. But does Rosemary’s heart already belong to someone else?
Book 8 - For All Eterni-tea
Pebble Cove will never be the same.
The Rickster is notorious for telling tall tales around Pebble Cove. When he’s found on the dock holding a bloody knife, a crumpled body at his feet, of course he has a story to explain it away. But is his plea of innocence just another yarn?
The victim and the Rickster share a long history, and at the Rickster’s pleading, Rosemary digs into the case. Unfortunately, the more she finds, the guiltier the man appears.
Even so, the Rickster’s case brings a welcome reprieve from her other active investigation. With the help of Asher’s distant, living relative, she’s closing in on the truth about her ghostly friend’s murder. But are Rosemary and Asher ready to say goodbye for all eternity?

Book One: Literally Dead
To solve or not to solve?
When a visiting professor is found dead, English major Pepper Brooks is caught in the middle of the investigation. Literally. While the detectives focus on crime scene forensics, Pepper can't ignore the Shakespearian clues left by the killer.
With the help of a handsome library clerk, a dog named Hamburger, and the words of The Bard himself, this unlikely sleuth might just close the book on this case.
Book Two: Literally Murder
A Farewell to Blondes
When a young woman shows up dead in Campus Creek, amateur sleuth Pepper Brooks is warned not to get involved. She's fine with that. It's her final quarter of college, she's immersed in Hemingway and planning her future.
Plus, things are already complicated enough trying to figure out where everything stands with Alex, her maybe-boyfriend. But when two more fair-haired women show up drowned, Pepper literally can't stay away. Especially when her best friend may be the next one For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Book Three: Literally Gone
It is a truth universally acknowledged that an overly inflated ego must be in want of the spotlight.
When the actor set to play Mr. Darcy is found murdered in his dressing room, Pine Crest’s annual AustenFest is derailed. Pepper Brooks must set her pride and prejudice aside to differentiate between rumor and truth as she searches for the killer.
Between running her new bookstore and trying to decide who is a Darcy and who is a Wickham, Pepper quickly finds that her story might not end as happily as those written by Jane Austen.
The first three books in Eryn Scott’s popular Stoneybrook Mystery series. Follow jam maker, Hadley James, and her friends as they solve crimes in their usually peaceful town. Each book features a different cat and canning recipes from Food in Jars creator, Marisa McClellan.

Even close-knit towns have secrets …

When the local knitting store owner asks her to cat-sit, Hadley doesn’t give it a second thought. What could go wrong? A lot, apparently. Suddenly, her simple cat-sitting job has turned into a murder investigation and life no longer seems so perfect.
Her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, is on the case but they’ve always done everything together and she can’t help but get involved. Plus, it’s much easier for Hadley to infiltrate the local knitting club than it is for her brother.

A Fresh Kill
Competition stings ...
There's nothing like the Stoneybrook farmers market in summer. Fresh flowers, organic veggies, delicious jams ... and a dead body. When an outsider turns up murdered, all of the evidence points to his rival, Stoneybrook's beloved florist.
Unable to believe a pillar of their community could be guilty of such a heinous crime, Hadley dives head-first into the investigation. Sure, she's busy looking for a new house, running her business, and dealing with her ex--who's back in town--but Hadley is determined to find the truth before the wrong man goes to jail.
Recipes from Food in Jars creator, Marisa McClellan, included: peach lavender jam and honey-sweetened peach chutney!
A Sweet Death
Murder can’t be sugar-coated …
When a local teen goes missing, the town of Stoneybrook fears the worst.
Hadley is sure Miranda’s disappearance has nothing to do with the drug dealer who was found dead in Cascade Ridge. The charming, candy-shop cashier is entirely too sweet to get involved in any of that. But when the clues pile up, Hadley can’t help but draw parallels.
Suddenly autumn isn’t feeling like the cozy season Hadley loves, and the clock is ticking faster than the leaves are falling.
Every moment counts in a missing persons case, but whom do you suspect when the victim is beloved by all?
Or is she?
Recipes from Food in Jars creator, Marisa McClellan, included: apple rosemary jam and spiced pear chutney!

This type of mugging can be deadly …

To make things worse, the dead man had flowers and an engagement ring with him, only months after the ink dried on his divorce to Josie.

It’s grand opening time for Willow’s nursery. Louisa’s best friend is brimming with nerves, sure something’s going to go wrong. It doesn’t help that her beloved pygmy goat, Steve, has recently gone missing. To make matters worse, on the morning of her first day of business, Willow shows up to find her front gate wide open. She should be worried if anything has been stolen, but she’s somewhat more concerned with the body lying cold in the middle of the succulents.
When the victim is identified as an auditor for the Department of Agriculture with documentation showing Willow was in possession of plants prohibited for sale in the state, the local police look at her as their prime suspect. Willow, distraught, swears the auditor was mistaken. With a little digging, Lou discovers that Willow wasn’t the only one to have issues with the deceased man. To Willow’s dismay, it looks like they’ll have to venture into Brine, the pickle-themed town next door, to find allies if they have any hope of proving her innocence.
