To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This truly massive book is an awesome sight to behold, and would be a great value at twice the price. The only downside is trying to find a place to put it. Too large for any standard bookshelf, yet this beauty demands to be displayed! As far as the comics themselves, it's seventies Kirby. Don't ask, just buy it!
The first issue is missing(it was wrongfully replaced with Eternal's Annual #1(which is in there twice)). Other than that SNAFU, everything is exceptionally well done. I'm hoping when Amazon screens this review, they will contact the publisher and have the oversight corrected, which would bump my rating up to a five.
Let me first state that Jack Kirby is still the "King". The Eternals are on whole an amazing cast of characters. They had the potential to be the cornerstone of the Marvel Universe. Had the higher ups allowed him to finish his vision and not interfere with it. It's my understanding that the wanted him to tie into the main universe with guest appearance of superheroes. This lead to fake Hulk story. I wish they would have given him a chance to finish his tale with another 5 to 10 issues. DC did. And look what they got (The 4th World). He laid the groundwork for Thanos. I know everything is driven by sale, but he was the "King", and Marvel should have treated him as one. It's a shame, I like to rate this book higher. There are so many loose threads an plot holes, that are not his fault. But at the end of the day, you can't over look them.
