This was the perfect series for my 6-year-old to really jump into reading. The words are simple enough that most can be sounded out or are sight words from kindergarten, but the stories are more substantive than many first readers so she was excited to keep trying! A tea party made from melted snow? (I believe that’s in book 3) How adorable! And can we talk about the beautiful illustrations? It’s perfection.
I found that there was equal parts narration to dialog, so my little one and I took turns with each book: she would read the dialog and I would read the narration, then switch. This worked perfectly for her to grow in confidence and now that we’ve read through the series twice like this together, she is confidently reading!
We’ll keep our eyes out for future releases!
