About the authors
Ceallaigh S. MacCath-Moran (C.S. MacCath) is a PhD candidate in the Folklore Department at Memorial University of Newfoundland, an author, a poet, and a musician. Ceallaigh's research interests include animal rights activism as a public performance of ethical belief, which is the topic of her dissertation, and creative applications of folkloristics for storytellers, which is the topic of her long-running Folklore & Fiction podcast. Work from Ceallaigh's two fiction and poetry collections has been shortlisted for the Washington Science Fiction Association Small Press Award, nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and nominated for the Rhysling Award. Her music is both old and new, inspired by the English and Scottish ballad tradition and rooted in contemporary Paganism. She lives in Atlantic Canada. Website: https://csmaccath.com
Beth Cato hails from Hanford, California, but currently writes and bakes cookies in a lair west of Phoenix, Arizona. She’s the Nebula Award-nominated author of A THOUSAND RECIPES FOR REVENGE from 47North (summer 2023), plus the Clockwork Dagger duology and the Blood of Earth trilogy from Harper Voyager. Her short stories can be found in publications ranging from Beneath Ceaseless Skies to Uncanny Magazine. In 2019, she won the Rhysling Award for short speculative poetry.
Beth shares her household with her husband, son, and two feline overlords. Her website BethCato.com includes not only a vast bibliography, but a treasure trove of recipes for delectable goodies. Find her on Twitter as @BethCato and Instagram as @catocatsandcheese.
L.S. Johnson lives in Northern California and is the author of over 40 dark fiction stories. Her first collection, Vacui Magia, won the 2nd Annual North Street Book Prize and was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award. Her second collection, Rare Birds, was longlisted for the Stoker Award and won an IPPY Medal. She is the author of the Chase & Daniels series of gothic novellas and the ongoing vampire serial Prima Materia. Find out more about her and sign up for her mailing list at http://traversingz.com/.
Jeanne has been writing since she first got her hands on a typewriter at age 9. Since then she has worked as a software developer, traveled the world, and written poetry. She is currently an archivist by day and a writer, glass artist, and fan of board games by night. She especially enjoys fantasy, science-fiction, YA, and historical fiction. She lives in Maryland with her husband, son, sister-in-law, and cat.
Like a magpie, Rhonda Parrish is constantly distracted by shiny things. She’s the editor of many anthologies and author of plenty of books, stories and poems. She lives with her husband and cats in Edmonton, Alberta, and she can often be found there playing Dungeons and Dragons, bingeing crime dramas or cheering on the Oilers.
Her website, updated regularly, is at http://www.rhondaparrish.com and her Patreon, updated even more regularly, is at https://www.patreon.com/RhondaParrish.
"Rhonda Parrish is a shapeshifter with talents to match her every incarnation- magpie tenacity for picking the shiniest submissions, nightingale notes for crafting tales, and bright, feline eyes for seeking out her photographic subjects. She balances on the knife-edge of darkness and light, a sorceress of both realms." - Sara Cleto
Rachel M. Thompson is a writer, mother, and geek–not necessarily in that order–living just outside of Austin, TX. She writes short fiction to maintain her sanity while working on novel-length manuscripts, with debatable results. When not buried at the bottom of an endless pile of laundry, she might be found doing something crafty or playing board games with her boys.
Sarah Van Goethem is a Canadian Author who resides in Southwestern Ontario. She spent lazy childhood summers on the farm, reading on the old tire swing beneath the maple tree, believing in fairytales. Now she weaves that memorable enchantment into her own short stories & novels.
She’s also convinced she was born in the wrong decade, maybe even the wrong century. She’s a nature lover, a wanderer of the fields & forests, and gatherer of vintage. Inspired by the natural world and the past, she blends history with the magic of nature in her writing.
You can find her at auctions, thrift stores, the back of her farm, maybe an abandoned house. Always in a rocking chair.
Most recently, Sarah's novels have been longlisted for the Bath Children's Novel Award and in PitchWars. Sarah is represented by Dorian Maffei of Kimberley Cameron & Associates Literary Agency.
