5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Academic, Aesthetic and Satisfying!
By Nakul mali on 1 April 2021
"There is still a first heir in the world. When the first heir rises, in all the awful glory bought by the blood of seelie and unseelie and Nephilim, I hope destruction comes to the shadowhunters as well as Faerie. I hope the whole world is lost."

Ghosts of the Shadow Market is a companion book to the Shadowhunter Chronicles. If you want to read this book, you'll have to read The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments and The Dark Artifices.

GotSM follows Brother Zachariah aka Jem carstairs and his journeys to the shadow markets all over the world- for most part- in search of the lost line of herondales, a shadowhunter family. This search takes him almost a century and a half and several visits to the market and several encounters with mortal and immortal people from the shadow world until it comes to fruit.

The chapters are each standalone stories told from various perspectives (including Jem's perspective in all the stories) and also set in all different times. The first story takes place in 1901 in the London Shadow Market and the last story takes place in 2013. From Paris to Chattanooga to Buenos Aries to New York and many other places, there's so much in the book!

It was good to get to know new characters as well as see different versions of other already known characters.

If you haven't read the other three series, so obviously you wouldn't read it. But if you have read the series, and want to read this one, then here's why you should pick it up!

• New character perspectives.
• All thrilling, emotional and wholesome stories.
• get to know New things about the shadow world
• A happy read which will leave you with so many emotions!
