I bought 3 of these locks to replace decades old locks of the same company (and shape) that had functioned flawlessly until recently.
The new locks have a slightly shorter (2-3mm) shackle than their old models, so don't hang quite as well.
The weight is slightly less.
The bread casing seems just a little thinner.
All of this would be fine... if they worked. The locks intermittently get stuck and take a few minutes of fiddling before they'll open. A few days ago, I had tried for 10 minutes with all of the supplied keys before giving up and calling customer care.
The number mentioned on the box has agents who are completely unprepared to respond to any queries able padlocks - which is not surprising considering they're not expected to fail (other than through years of wear and tear) after decades of the company being in this business.
The customer care agent had to transfer me to his superior as he hasn't heard of the Nav-tal series of locks. This senior then advised me to return the lock (that was stuck on my gate) to any dealer. When I told him that the whole problem was that I couldn't get it off, he told me to unscrew it. When I explained to him that the casing of their padlocks don't have screws, he logged a complaint and told me someone would be sent home to break the lock, and they'd give me a replacement.
2 days later, after we'd fortunately managed to remove the lock, I get a call from Godrej telling me he's coming to repair my lock and tells me that any material cost would be my responsibility. When I explained to him that it was under warranty, he told me I'd have to pay the visit charge. I refused and put the phone down. I got a call from their office a short while later asking me what my issue was with paying a visit charge.
Bottom line is - poor quality lock with no customer service. Buy something else. I've given it 2 stars because it's very difficult to open - sometimes even with the key.
