5.0 out of 5 stars Poor baby bear...no porridge, broken chair, and someone in his bed!

One of a nice little series of children's Ladybird books. All priced around the £4.99 mark. They are very slim (pictured next to my HD 10 for scale), and all seem to be between two and three hundred words in length. These are paperbacks, but the card used for the front cover is good quality and thanks to it's shiny surface will survive a wipe with a damp cloth. Each storybook has a small section at the beginning that suggests ways to engage with your child as you read and also a smaller section at the end that helps you test your child's recall. This compressed classic is my niece's favourite of the ten I have purchased in this series. She does love bears....but not so much...porridge. The moral of the story is clear. Goldilocks is very mischievous but is found out in the end. It also teaches your child an important lesson. When faced with three bears...as Goldilocks would say..."time to go!"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very simple story

This is a very simplified version of Goldilocks. It is designed for children to read themselves, so if my daughter was a bit older (she’s 3.5) it would probably be perfect. Even so, I am a little disappointed that so much of the story is missed out.
