This is funny and has a surprising tenderness toward the end - which I totally didn't expect. There is more to this book than 'poking fun at larger women'. Touching if a little long winded
The story line wanders about all over the place and although Cannie, the main character is plausible very few others are shown as rounded characters with most being near caricatures or background fodder.
There is a good story here somewhere but it is drowned by an awful lot of words which don't take us far.
The happy ending doesn't really get the full treatment it should have to balance up the endless angs suffered earlier
