Review
Realism is never too far in author Salil Desai’s latest book, 3 and A Half Murders. A non-regulation twist turns the saga on its head. - Bangalore Mirror
The unexpected twists leave the reader shocked at the turn of events. The suspense is not allowed to slacken at any stage. The author transfers his own excitement to the characters as well as the reader. The suspense is so well-built and the pace so well-maintained that it is only at the fag-end that the reader manages to start putting together the clues into a coherent reality. The end is shocking and leaves the reader reeling. The writer has deftly handled the plot, weaving it with so many shades. The writing style is easy and the plot is absorbing. It is difficult to put down the book till the mystery is solved. - The Sunday Tribune
He narrates a chapter till its high, then mixes it with a different scenario, until that reaches climax. This makes the narrative more intriguing. The built-up of every character forces you to understand the psyche behind every wrong-doing. The unpredictability and the backdrop of the criminal make the climax unbelievable and astonishing. The book surely impresses the reader with the final revelation. - The New Indian Express

Desai masterfully weaves a complex plot full of twists and turns, which will keep you guessing until the very end. The characters are well-developed and relatable, with their personal struggles adding depth and authenticity to the story. The Indian city of Pune provides a rich backdrop for the story, making the book a delight for readers who are familiar with the city.
Overall, '3 and a Half Murders' is a must-read for murder mystery enthusiasts who enjoy a cleverly crafted plot and engaging characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery, and I can't wait to read more books from Salil Desai's series featuring Senior Inspector Saralkar and PSI Motkar.

Review:
This is the first time I had read Salil's work, and this is the 3rd installment to the Saralkar series. Even though it is the installment series, the stories are not connected. The story starts with two corpses lying in the single bedroom flat, which is found by the members. The case looks like an homicide cum suicide and with a written suicide note mentioning the. name "Shaunak Sodhi." Is it really a homicide cum suicide or a double murder? The couple goes after by name Sanjay Doshi and Anushka Doshi. In this process, it ravels murder cases, which happened 7 years ago. The progress of the storyline gets you hooked to the book, which will make many guesses who the killer will be as there will be many possibilities. But at last, the murderer will be some other person whom you will not be able to guess. You can give it a try, I finished the book within 3 days.
The whole story mostly takes place in Pune, Maharashtra (just as other books in the series). This book was a bit less mysterious as compared to The Murder of Sonia Raikkonen (the previous book in the series) and thus didn't intrigue me as much as the other had.
I personally feel that the story is a whole lot more complex and thus confusing. Sometimes, I had to go through few parts of the story to understand what has happened.
The whole story is like an ancient mechanical watch, that is, it is made up of many small parts and contains a lot of details.
I just want to tell you:
Throughout all Saralkar mysteries I've read so far, the point that the dead bodies stink is emphasized.
I hope my review will help you.

I bought this book after reading so many good reviews, but slightly disappointed as it's not as mysterious as I thought from the reviews and one question remains unanswered "Who tried to kill Mrs. Tambe", if it's the same murderer then what's the motive?
Overall worth reading.
You won't be able to guess the ending even if you try your best.
