Amazon.com Review
Readers, we will cast a giant invisibility cloak over any more plot and reveal only that You-Know-Who is very much after Harry and that this year there will be no Quidditch matches between Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Instead, Hogwarts will vie with two other magicians' schools, the stylish Beauxbatons and the icy Durmstrang, in a Triwizard Tournament. Those chosen to compete will undergo three supreme tests. Could Harry be one of the lucky contenders?
But Quidditch buffs need not go into mourning: we get our share of this great game at the World Cup. Attempting to go incognito as Muggles, 100,000 witches and wizards converge on a "nice deserted moor." As ever, Rowling magicks up the details that make her world so vivid, and so comic. Several spectators' tents, for instance, are entirely unquotidian. One is a minipalace, complete with live peacocks; another has three floors and multiple turrets. And the sports paraphernalia on offer includes rosettes "squealing the names of the players" as well as "tiny models of Firebolts that really flew, and collectible figures of famous players, which strolled across the palm of your hand, preening themselves." Needless to say, the two teams are decidedly different, down to their mascots. Bulgaria is supported by the beautiful veela, who instantly enchant everyone--including Ireland's supporters--over to their side. Until, that is, thousands of tiny cheerleaders engage in some pyrotechnics of their own: "The leprechauns had risen into the air again, and this time, they formed a giant hand, which was making a very rude sign indeed at the veela across the field."
Long before her fourth installment appeared, Rowling warned that it would be darker, and it's true that every exhilaration is equaled by a moment that has us fearing for Harry's life, the book's emotions running as deep as its dangers. Along the way, though, she conjures up such new characters as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, a Dark Wizard catcher who may or may not be getting paranoid in his old age, and Rita Skeeter, who beetles around Hogwarts in search of stories. (This Daily Prophet scoop artist has a Quick-Quotes Quill that turns even the most innocent assertion into tabloid innuendo.) And at her bedazzling close, Rowling leaves several plot strands open, awaiting book 5. This fan is ready to wager that the author herself is part veela--her pen her wand, her commitment to her world complete. Newt Scamander and his Beasts
|
|
|
|
---|---|---|---|
Newt ScamanderNewt Scamander is a Magizoologist who has been traveling the world to find and document magical creatures, hoping to educate the wizarding world about why they are important and need to be protected. In his travels, he has rescued a wide variety of beasts, great and small, which he keeps in a case that magically provides more than enough room for the menagerie he cares for and protects. Newt is an outsider, a bit awkward, and more comfortable with creatures than his fellow wizards and witches. Hailing from England, he was once a student at Hogwarts but was expelled for endangering human life with a beast. Yet there was one professor who fought for him, a certain Albus Dumbledore. No one could have imagined then that Newt would someday write one of Hogwarts’ most important textbooks: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. |
NifflerThe mischievous Niffler is small, furry and black with a long, rounded snout, making it look like a cross between a mole and a duck-billed platypus. With an irrepressible predilection for anything glittery, this burrowing but remarkably fast and agile little beast will snatch or steal whatever shiny object catches its eye. The Niffler stores its treasures in the pouch on its belly, which holds considerably more than seems possible. Though gentle and even affectionate, the Niffler can be quite destructive in its pursuit of sparkly things, so, word to the wise: they do not make good house pets. |
BowtruckleThe sprig-like Bowtruckle can be immensely difficult to spot in a natural environment as it is not only very small but also can easily blend into any foliage. It is a maximum of eight inches in height and appears to be made out of a tree stem with roots, tiny leafy _branches and two brown eyes. Newt has at least six of these little beasts—named Pickett, Titus, Finn, Poppy, Marlow and Tom—though he can’t help but play favorites with Pickett, whom he keeps safe in his breast pocket. The Bowtruckle, which eats only insects, is a peaceable and intensely shy creature. |
ThunderbirdThe Thunderbird is a large, regal avian creature native to the arid climate of Arizona. Its head is similar to that of an eagle or, in the wizarding world, a Hippogriff. Its multiple powerful wings shimmer with cloud- and sun-like patterns and their flapping can create storms. Thunderbirds can also sense danger. After rescuing a Thunderbird from traffickers in Egypt, Newt named him Frank and promised to return him to his natural habitat in Arizona. Sadly, one of Frank’s legs bears the wounds of having been chained, but his gratitude to Newt for having rescued him is evident. |

Author-J.K Rowling
This book is in the Harry Potter series so people would be a fan of this book .
This book shows how the Triwizard tournament is held at Hogwarts and Harry , though underage gets selected for the tournament.
There are many interesting parts in this book but the most interesting part I found was , when Barty Crouch Jr. told the truth about how he entered Hogwarts and explained that how he escaped Azkaban, under the trance of Veritaserum (the truth potion).
The most horrifying part was when Cedric died and when Voldemort got his body back.
The funniest part was when Lavender and Parvati started laughing at the mention of the Yule Ball by Professor Mcgonagall.
My overal opinion:
It's quite positive. This is also my favourite book in the Harry Potter series till now.It is just totally fantastic.I give this book five out of five stars.Harshit Gupta

As for the condition of the book, it's perfect. Thank you seller for providing such a good book at a reasonable price.
The fourth book in The Harry Potter Universe contains so many new spells and charms as well as awesome new characters along with a few magical creatures. The writing is as always so neat and easier to fathom. This book provides the much needed backstory of one of the most heinous villain ever. The plot is plain and simple but the twist at the end is what makes this a splendid read. I loved all the new characters and their development is superbly done. Voldemort just gave it a more darker touch than the first three books. How Voldemort instill fear in the hearts of Death Eaters is one of my most appreciated moment of the book. I loved how different schools came together to participate in the competition, it may prove to be a big turning point in the later books to counter against the dark lord's army. I would love to read about these guys again. The only thing i disliked is that sometimes the book pacing was getting slow. Also i was really looking forward to the maze trial but it was over in an instant. Apart from that, i loved the book. Do pick this series if you haven't already. 😊🙏

:) There is crazy and amazing parts in the story too!!!!

At the same time he-who-must-not –be-named is slowly growing stronger now that his reliable servant, Wormtail, has returned to him the tone of the books gets progressively darker.
So it’s a great book again, a worthy successor to the magnificent Prisoner of Azkaban, that I very much enjoyed.
We bought the more durable hard bound copy, so the that book can be passed on from one child to the other as they start to develop an interest. However given the Potter-enthusiasm our oldest displays I wonder she will ever part with it.

My daughter has ALL the Harry Potter Illustrated books. She loves them, and I can see why. The print quality is excellent, the cover art beautiful and the package as a whole is a high quality item that gives the reader a different experience to the paperbacks. The artist has done a fantastic job of bringing Rowling's characters and settings to life. It all looks good and fits well with the story. One thing I should warn you about is that this is a large, heavy book and will probably be reserved for reading at home. It's NOT the sort of thing you could take on the train and read. It's also worth noting that bringing out the next edition of the illustrated books takes a LONG time. This one took much longer than the last one and 'Order of the Phoenix' is an even longer book. If you're hoping to collect the whole Harry Potter series in illustrated form you are probably in for a long wait. I'd estimate you'll have to wait until at least 2028, probably 2030 before you can complete the set. There's also the risk that at some point the financial value of printing these won't be there. So you could try and collect them, but find at the end you only have half an illustrated set. The book on it's own merit though, will be loved by kids and adult Potter fans alike. It'd make a great Christmas or birthday present, and might encourage a fan who read the paperback to read the story again.
