This book is one of a Kind, and should belong to self help category. It's absolutely accurate account of hitchhiking are improbably helpful.
Although very few people are found to have understood how? But as long as you know, there are plenty of other planets for you to migrate too, where immigration policies are professionally viable.
Hitchhiking is the best way to travel the universe unless you are unfortunate enough to live in reality.
It will turn your brain inside out and will make its outside inside just to make sure you are able to scratch your head again!
It is also, One of the greatest book ever written, which will give you the answer to the greatest question? The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything!
I think, Not being a native English speaker I missed(unable to understand) some language based humour and punches, but overall I found it very amusing and sometimes hilarious!
(80% funny, That's why 2 to the power of 276709 stars to one against, so ... "Whatever" - improbability factor equals four. Hence, 4 stars.)
The nearly definitive edition is a large hardcover omnibus with a beautiful cover. The only thing missing is a bad a** dust jacket.! The paper quality is the best among all the variants of the book ( paperbacks have really bad paper quality). The spine of the book is one of the best and will hold on for a really long time (probably till your grandchildren dont mess it up). So, in my opinion, this version is the best to have on your shelf. Totally worth the money.!
Makes me wonder if there're other issues with the book!
Quality of the Book - Very good condition, hard-bound book, with very clear printing.
Amazing Book. If you are a science fiction fan, then 'hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy' is a must read. It is a classic and a wonderful book. Science Fiction humour at its best.
This masterpiece of Douglas Adams is thought provoking, wicked funny and sometimes out right Ludicrous. It talks about technological advancements, the meaning of life and then it says Earth is controlled by MICES. Yes you read that right.
Read it, if you want a child like grin on your face.
One of my favorites. can't recommend enough.
English used is pretty simple and is easy to understand and there's are stickers which you can stick on your laptop etc. All in all a must read

A splendidly funny and silly book, quite a successful novelisation of the Radio Series.
Note that the extracts from the archives come right at the end of Chapter 35, and are interesting, especially the fax from Douglas to the American script editor, explaining why some things shouldn't be changed. For some reason, they're not listed in the table of contents.
I'd heard great things but I couldn't get into it, my mind kept drifting, i looked for the humor but couldn't find it (was it where the British guy wanted a cup of tea on a spaceship?).
It just didn't hold my attention im afraid which is a shame as its such a cult classic.
I read the book first, then listened to the second radio series, then the second album (included here), then the TV show, then the First album (also included here) and finally the original radio show.
Still with me? Good. This circuitous route means that the albums in this collection were my first exposure to the original material in an audio form. Because of this, I think of these as the definitive versions, an opinion shared by BBC Television it seems - after all, this is what they used as the basis for their TV adaptation.
These recordings feature most of the original cast... but not everyone. Presumably a couple of actors were unavailable during the recording sessions. It's no big deal - you really don't notice. Everyone is comfortable in their familiar roles, the script has been fine tuned by Adams, John Lloyd and Geoffrey Perkins and the music is exceptional from Tim Souster and Paddy Kingsland. Everything sounds as fresh and funny as it did 40 years ago
(blimey, I'm old).
I have some issues with this presentation of the albums, though.
I already own the original recordings on vinyl, but like so many of us I no longer have a stereo system to play them on. This CD re-issue was a dream come true and an instant purchase. However... The track listings are wrong.
They are presented in a similar manner to the original vinyl release, with side 1 and 2 listed separately. Adding up sides 3 and 4 gives a total of 19 tracks - two more than are actually on the disc. Similarly, the third disc, The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe, has a total of 14 tracks listed - three fewer than are on the disc.
I assume that the printed material included in the booklet is taken directly from the original album track listing (i don't have access to my albums to confirm this) and that this is some sort of error in the encoding process. It doesn't affect the recordings in any way. It just annoys the perfectionist geek in me.
At last I can listen to these again with ease.
