Calm Descends
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 18 August 2015Verified Purchase
I've been reading Thich's books for many years, and find great comfort in his wise and simple words. This book helps connect to nature and life through the act of walking. I had open heart surgery two weeks ago, and in the weeks leading up to the operation, this book gave me hope, and helped me deal with my fears. It's small size meant I could take this book with me when I walked my old Labrador early on a morning, rest on a tree trunk and read his inspirational words. Thich speaks to a modern society - his is never an ancient text - he never criticises, and understands and embraces our needs for technology, yet he shows us how to see further than our mobiles and tablets. In this book he shows us how each step we take can be meaningful, whether walking across the office, down a busy street, or in a field. Read this book and feel calm descend.

Beautiful Meditations

Love this book. I read it in the evening just after I meditated. You can sense the joy of the master being alive and present in the world. Reading it made me feel very happy. Take time out and walk side by side with Thich Nhat Hanh. Highly recommended.

How to Walk (mindful essentials)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 17 August 2015Verified Purchase
Absolutely wonderful! I bought this for my daughter but had a sneaky peek first and bought How to Love and How to Eat. The act of reading of these books is a meditative process in its self. The books have the power to change our thoughts and therefore our behaviour. Thich Nhat Hanh is a great discovery for me so I'll be buying more of his writings.
