Andrea Tolliver - a genetically designed human from the Singularity - has finally earned a spot in the Imperial Marines.
If she makes it through training, she’ll earn citizenship. If not - well, best not to think about that. With ruthless enemies willing to do anything to stop her, she’ll need all the help she can get to survive. Even with friends working from the shadows to keep her safe, will that be enough to keep her alive?

I enjoy Mr Nixon’s books and this is no exception. Great story and the climax kept me going, I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Terry writes a good yarn, makes his characters come to life and then the storyline flows. Good read.

A good space opera.

I wouldn't give this book 5 stars for its literacy quality or development of character but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the impending conflict between the Empire and the Singularity makes me want to read the next episode.

unbelievably stupid
Reviewed in the United States on 3 May 2021Verified Purchase
I waited a few weeks to review this book to make sure my opinion had settled. No one would really do anything in this book. On either side of the conflict. The wonderfully developed princess from the Singularity is now totally pedestrian and whatever remaining talents she has totally neutralized. This is exceeded only by the stupidity of her opponents. The wonderful promise of the first book in the series has evaporated.
