Product description

Review

"Whether it's the overly tight corsets or the smell of dark magic that hangs in the air "like sulfur mixed with the Thames on a hot day," there's something about Victorian England that heightens tensions, both romantic and paranormal. In "Clockwork Prince," the second installment in a prequel trilogy to the bestselling "The Mortal Instruments" series, Cassandra Clare demonstrates her relentless authorial alchemy, blending societal restraint and an otherworldly battle into a steamy steampunk drama."

--"Los Angeles Times", December 2011

"A purple page turner."

"--Kirkus Reviews, "November 2011

"Clare delivers in this trilogy second. . . . Really very well done. Be sure to start with the first in the Infernal Devices trilogy, Clockwork Angel, to best enjoy this tale."

-- Romantic Times Book Review, December 2011

"This novel offers mystery, adventure, and, most importantly, a delicious love triangle. . . . It will not disappoint fans and it will definitely leave them eager for the conclusion of the trilogy."

--"SLJ", January 2012 --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book I have ever read
By Nandhini(Books and Bliss) on 13 May 2019
This is the best book that I have read in a long time. I cried and I smiled and again I cried. Till now I cannot come to a conclusion that whether it was a happy ending or a sad one. I cannot explain how much I enjoyed reading this book. This book is perfect in every way. It's about love, family, and fighting against odds etc. I enjoyed this trilogy right from the beginning.. And I couldn't guess the ending.. It was amazing. Very satisfying. This is my favourite trilogy of all time. I would recommend this trilogy to all the readers who love fantasy. And this is that sort of a story that just stays in your heart forever... Where you really care for the characters. If you have not picked up this trilogy yet then you should pick this up as soon as possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars An ending worthy of the series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 February 2019
A wonderful ending to one of my all time favourite series. I've read pretty much everything Cassandra Clare has written and loved it all. I didn't think I'd find a series I enjoyed more than the mortal instruments but I did in this.

I wasn't sure where she could take the story that would surprise, given the situation some characters were in, but she absolutely did. I've reread this book and the others countless times and I can't help but love the ending, it doesn't tie up everything in a neat bow but its heart-rending every time.

I don't usually highlight in books, but I couldn't help it with this one. I do however wish there was a choice of front cover - I have the most up to date cover art but it's not the first edition version which I preferred (especially for clockwork angel).

4.0 out of 5 stars Not matching cover but still amazing book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2016
I love the book but I am unhappy with the cover series. I was expecting "clockwork princess" with the cover that is at the picture as I already have the other two book from same series of covers. Now the third book doesn't match the others on the shelf.

Update: once I was buying the new covers came out and Amazon apparently hasn't change the picture on time but obviously I received new version of the cover. I love it nether less it's just doesn't match my other two books.

BOOK REVIEW:
It's the Immortal instruments that made me fall in love with Shadowhunters world but the Infernal Devices deepened it. I fell like with Tessa, Jem, Will and all other characters the whole story together with Clare, Alex, Isabelle and Jace is full. It makes sense somehow. When comparing characters of Tessa, Jem and Will were deeper, I felt connected to them. I felt I could understand them and why they behave and act the way they did. 5 out of 5 stars, especially for Clockwork Princess.
