I have a 7 yr old who would rather do anything but read which is a shock to me considering all my other kids and myself included are avid readers! I spotted these Isadora Moon books and was immediately captivated by the gorgeously designed front covers, so I bought one and thought we'd give it a go. Well I'm pleased to say my daughter loves these books and will quite happily read them without being coerced. My daughter is thrilled with the concept of Isadora being half vampire and half fairy. We are currently now on a mission to collect them all and are planning on using Isadora for World Book Day this year.
My daughter, aged 6, is a huge fan of the Isadora Moon books which she reads to me. The stories are engaging and beautifully illustrated. In this story, Isabelle is persuaded by her naughty cousin Mirabelle, to conjure up a dragon to take in for a show and tell at school! Both me and my daughter would recommend these books for emerging readers and for those sick of the usual saccharine fairy stories.
My seven year old daughter adores these books so much. She adores the character of Isadora and follows her antics with relish. This book did not disappoint. Although devoured in one or two sittings, it is returned to over and over. The pink and black illustrations add to the appeal.
This Isadora Moon tale did not hit me quite as much as the others, a really strong tale of the need to tell the truth and what can go wrong if you listen to the wrong person. Isadora's half fairy half witch cousin comes to stay, leading to adventures that wouldn't happen if she knew how to say no. A situation with a dragon and a lot of trouble.
Beautifully illustrated with a great tale of caution.
My daughter has several of the series of these books in fact her first ever chapter book was one of them. She really enjoys reading them. They are cute & funny with nice morals & messages in each book. They are great for young children who are transitioning into more independent reading. Perfect for a 5-8 year old, my daughter is 7 and she still hasn’t lost interest.
